Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a body sealer wherein particles of a flatting agent protrude beyond the surface of application, the see-through of the undercoat is not conspicuous even when a coating film is applied on the surface by using a particulate flatting agent as part of the filler. CONSTITUTION:A body sealer used in a joint of a steel sheet of, e.g., the clinch of an automotive door, wherein a particulate flatting agent is used as part of the filler. When this body sealer is applied to the surface of a steel sheet, particles 2 of the body sealer protrude beyond the surface of the body sealer 1 to form small irregularities. When a coating film 3 is applied to this surface, the film 3 has a substantially uniform thickness before it is dried, but it is thin in the parts corresponding to the surfaces of the protruded particles 2 of the flatting agent after is baked. The individual parts through which the undercoat is seen are very small and constitute an aggregate of small parts as a whole and are not conspicuous, so that they do not adversely affect the appearance.

<Prior Art> As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the joint of the steel plate where the outer panel 11 of the automobile door 10 is wound inside, the so-called clinch portion, etc., is coated with anti-corrosion t-fills and electricity. Body sealer 12 is applied on top of the paint. And this body sealer 12
After that, a top coat layer 13 is formed and finished.

Conventional PodeSealer 12 is usually made by adding a plasticizer for viscosity and a filler made of calcium carbonate to a sol made of polyvinyl chloride or its copolymer, and further adding an epoxy adhesive agent. The typical blending ratio is 12 to 16% sol (wt%).

Therefore, especially in areas where it is difficult to use a brush etc.
As shown in Figure (a), the surface of the body sealer 12 becomes uneven. When a coating is applied to the uneven surface of the PODECEALER 12, the coating film 13 has a uniform thickness along the uneven surface as shown in FIG. 4 (BL) before drying.
After drying, the coating Wj413 on the convex portion 14 becomes thinner as shown in FIG. Body sealer 12 if the color is dark.
There is a problem in that the whitish color is noticeable. If the body sealer 12 is partially seen through in this way, the color will appear uneven and the appearance will be poor.

In addition, in order to eliminate such uneven coating, improvements are being made to the plasticizers and other additives in body sealers, but these improvements have no effect on the rust prevention performance or other properties of the body sealer itself. There is a problem in that it must be done carefully because it can cause serious damage.

When a body sealer having such a composition is applied, the granular matting agent protrudes from the surface to form a finely uneven surface. Therefore, when painting is applied over this body sealer, the paint adheres well. In addition, after baking, the paint film becomes thinner at the convex parts of the uneven surface, which is the same as before, but since the unevenness is minute and it is the matting agent that is visible through it, it is not very noticeable and the overall It looks uniform.

Figures 1 (al to (C)) show the state in which the body sealer of the present invention has been applied and painted on it.As shown in these figures, granular matting agent 2 protrudes from the surface of the body sealer 1, and minute particles When paint is applied on this surface, the thickness of the paint film 3 becomes almost uniform as shown in Figure 1 (BL) before drying, but the thickness of the paint film 3 after drying is as shown in Figure 1. (
As shown in c), the paint film 3 becomes thinner on the surface of the protruding matting agent 2. However, each of the parts where the paint film 3 becomes thinner and the base material is transparent is minute, and the whole is made up of a collection of minute parts9 and is unnoticeable, so the appearance does not deteriorate. do not have.

<Effects of the Invention> As explained above, the body sealer of the present invention contains a particulate matting agent as a part of the filler9, and since the matting agent protrudes from the applied surface, it is difficult to apply a coating on top of the matting agent. Even when applied, the undercoat will not show through, and the appearance will not deteriorate.
