Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce an edging time in a rolling line and to improve the working efficiency by pressing the top and bottom surfaces of a stock near the acting cetroid point of an edging force by necessary number of pressing rolls installed according to a width of the stock.
CONSTITUTION: A stock is edge drafted by an edging press where metal dies 35 for edging are installed to be able to close to and separate from the stock in both the sides of a rolling line S for the stock. In that press, a pair of narrow width pressing rolls 17 and two pair of wide pressing rolls 27, 28 being able to close to and separate from the top and bottom surfaces of the stock and movable in the stock length direction are installed. Thus, the top and bottom surfaces of the stock near to acting centroid point of an edge force are pressed by the necessary number of the rolls 17, 27, 28 according to a stock width. Hence, an edging time in the rolling line is reduced and the working efficiency is improved.
