Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the explosion-proof performance of a cathode-ray tube by coupling a brand frame formed to suit the shape of the side wall part of a cathode-ray tube body to the aforesaid side wall part via a shrinkage fitting process. CONSTITUTION:A band frame 3 is processed into an annular shape slightly shorter than the side of a cathode-ray tube and along the shape of the side wall part 11 of a cathode-ray tube body 7. The aforesaid band frame 3 is coupled to the side wall part 11 of the cathode-ray tube body 1 and then cooled, thereby obtaining a shrinkage type explosion-proof cathode-ray tube. According to this construction, uniform and close adherence is maintained between the internal surface of the band frame 3 and the side wall part 11 upon shrinkage and the explosion-proof performance of the cathode-ray tube is enhanced.
