In recent years, the demand for cushion materials made from coil springs has gradually decreased due to factors such as being inconvenient to carry, having a complex combination structure of coil springs, resulting in low productivity, and being easily broken. Foams and fiber aggregates have come to dominate cushion materials.

However, plastic foam and fiber aggregates
Although it has good insulation and heat retention, it has the disadvantage of making you feel uncomfortable and stuffy. Among these, plastic foam lacks orientation and crystallinity of the polymer substances that compose it, and is therefore weak in strength, making it suitable for use as underlay materials for floors in judo halls, gymnasiums, etc., and for physical education mats, which are subject to severe expansion and contraction stress. Moreover, although it has a high cushioning property, it is rather uncomfortable to step on and gives a feeling of discomfort. In this respect, fiber aggregates such as felt have appropriate cushioning properties, and the individual fibers that make up the fibers have the advantage of having crystallinity and orientation, but since they are dense aggregates of fibers, sweat It cannot be washed even if it gets soaked and becomes dirty, and since it is just an aggregate (clump) of short fibers, the aggregate state is easily broken, and once the fiber aggregate is broken, it cannot be returned to its original state. Poor durability.

As shown in the figure, the cushion material 1 according to the present invention has the following features:
It consists of an upper base fabric 2 and a lower base fabric 3 composed of threads, and a large number of connecting yarns 6 that connect these base fabrics, and the upper base fabric 2 and the lower base fabric 3 are Interval a
The threads 6 are arranged in parallel with each other, and the connecting threads 6 are continuously zigzag back and forth between the upper base fabric 2 and the lower base fabric 3 so that they stand up from one base fabric at right angles and go toward the other base fabric. The upper base fabric 2 and the lower base fabric 3 are connected, and the upper base fabric 2 and the lower base fabric 3 are connected by the upright portions 61 of a large number of connecting threads 6 that stand upright with respect to the upper base fabric and the lower base fabric. The gap a between the connecting threads 6 and the upper base fabric and the lower base fabric is filled, and each connecting portion 62 between the connecting yarn 6 and the upper base fabric and the lower base fabric is formed by a double pile weaving and knitting machine with the yarns that make up those base fabrics. The connecting yarn 6 is made of a single thick yarn that has been subjected to a drawing process and is integrated with the base fabric so as to be intertwined with each other in a woven or knitted structure to form a part of the base fabric. It is made up of one or more thick and smooth plastic threads like proboscis threads with a size of 0.4 to 10 (88 to 2,200 deniers). The cross-section of the plastic thread 6 may be circular or flat, and the cross-sectional shape is not limited, but it is preferably a cross-section similar to that of a proboscis thread.

In the cushion material according to the present invention, when the upper base fabric 2 and the lower base fabric 3 are woven or knitted into a double structure, connecting threads are formed to connect the base fabrics during the weaving or knitting process. The strip 6 is inserted so as to be entangled with the warp yarns 9, 10 and weft yarns 7, 8 or the knitting yarns 4, 5 of the base fabric. For this purpose, we need

In other words, the cushion material according to the present invention is produced by weaving or knitting plastic monofilament threads having a thickness of 0.4 to 10 (88 to 2,200 denier) like pile threads on the double pile loom and knitting machine. The base fabrics 2 and 3 can be manufactured while being woven and knitted. In this case, the cushion material 1 is constructed by connecting the upper and lower base fabrics 2 and 3 with the connecting yarn 6.
The connecting yarn 6 is not cut in the middle between the base fabrics 2 and 3 as in the case of producing pile fabrics.

The cushion material according to the present invention is constructed in the form of an extremely thick cloth, but the front and back surfaces are base fabrics 2 and 3 with gaps called weaves and stitches, and the cushion material stands upright like a pile between them. Since it is only thickened by the connecting threads 6, it is breathable and easy to wash with water.

Since the gap a between the upper and lower base fabrics is filled by the upright portions 61 of the connecting threads 6 as if the pile were densely planted, cushioning properties are provided.

In addition, the connecting threads do not become thin fibers of several deniers like the pile threads of pile fabrics, but 0.4 deniers.
Since it is made of plastic monofilament yarn of size 10 to 10 (88 to 2,200 deniers), it exhibits high elastic recovery power, and from this point of view as well, the cushion material according to the present invention has excellent cushioning properties.

Moreover, unlike a pile, the upright portions 61 of the connecting yarns do not bend from the tip, and even if tread pressure is applied to the upright portions 61 of some of the connected yarns, the tread pressure is applied through the upper base fabric 2. is dispersed to the upright portions 61' of the other connecting yarns, and is lifted onto the upper base fabric 2 by the elastic repulsive force of the other upright portions 61'. The upright portion 61 of the strip is returned to its original upright position.

As is clear from this, the present invention has durability that does not cause damage even under intensely repeated expansion and contraction stress, breathability that allows washing with water without feeling stuffy, and excellent elastic recovery power. As a result, a cushion material is obtained which is particularly suitable for use in flooring materials and mats for physical education, which require a high degree of durability, or bed underlay materials, which require breathability.
