Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify an executing method and to reduce a cost by bringing a film to scarcely adhere with a transfer foil into close contact with a part not to be transferred of the surface part of a matter to be transferred, and then transferring the foil. CONSTITUTION:Plastic which is not easily softened by heat is employed as a film to scarcely adhere with a transfer foil. The film of the resin is brought into close contact with the part not to be transferred with the foil of a matter to be transferred. Generally, the resin is liquefied, and coats or is printed on a necessary part. However, if the coating or printing is difficult in a working step, the resin may be formed in the state of the transfer foil, transferred to a necessary part to form a film. Or, the resin film is desirably selected to resin having high softening temperature higher by at least 30 deg.C than the softening temperature of the molding resin of the matter to be transferred. In this respect, it is advantageously to use the curable resin. When it is thus transferred, the transfer foil is transferred to a part except the part formed with the film, thereby completing the partial transfer.

Conventionally, in industrial instruments, nameplates, etc., transparent plastic is temporarily left transparent in the form of letters, patterns, or rectangular windows, and other parts are made opaque by transferring hot stamp foil such as hairline patterns. Many types of products are manufactured. The manufacturing method for these products is: 1) Print ink or glue using a screen printing method, leaving transparent letters, patterns, windows, etc. as white outlines, and then apply transfer foil only to the printed areas. Method of transcription (Special Publications 1984-
9708, etc.), or (2) When manufacturing transfer foil, first print water-based glue etc. on the white areas, vacuum evaporate aluminum, then wash with water, and apply aluminum 1 on the white areas.
A method using a transfer foil that has undergone partial vapor deposition by removing the film (such as Utility Model Publication No. 24 of 1973), or ■ Covering the white part of the object with masking tape, masking ink, etc. The method used was to transfer a transfer foil to the front surface, then peel off the masking material and create a window.

However, in conventional technology (2), since the transfer foil is transferred onto the ink surface, the transfer surface protrudes significantly from the base plate surface, creating a step.
Furthermore, when viewed from the back side, the transfer foil is seen through the ink surface, which has the disadvantage that the gloss of the foil is impaired. Furthermore, the border line printed by screen printing also had screen marks, which did not necessarily result in a clean finish. Manufacturing the partially vapor deposited foil (2) required many man-hours and could not meet demand in a short period of time, and the foil itself was not versatile and was considerably more expensive than -C foil. (3) has the drawbacks that it takes time to attach and remove the masking material, and hot stamping often causes clouding in the masked area, and in practice, it is difficult to mask minute shapes.

The present invention has been made to correct the above-mentioned drawbacks, and its object is to provide a foil that is easy to implement, inexpensive, and does not need to be peeled off once it has been bonded. By providing a transparent film, it eliminates the trouble of peeling off the masking material in the manufacturing method of windowed instruments and nameplates, and eliminates the problem of unevenness on the foil surface by directly transferring the transfer foil to the surface of the transferred object. The appearance from the back side is also good, and the remaining film protects the window from friction chemicals, etc., and the use of inexpensive general-purpose foil reduces the cost of using expensive partially vapor-deposited foil. In addition to providing a method for obtaining the same, it also provides a simple method for producing multicolor transfer prints that are beautiful on both the front and back by coloring the film, thereby expanding demand and contributing to the development of industry.

The above problem is solved by a method for partially transferring a transfer foil onto an object, as set forth in claim (1), in which the transfer foil does not require transfer among the surface portion of the object. This is achieved by first forming a coating on a portion to which the transfer foil is difficult to adhere, and then transferring the transfer foil only to the necessary portion.

In general, transfer foils adhere to the surface of the foil by a heat-sensitive adhesive applied to the surface of the foil, which is softened and melted by the heat during transfer and entangles with the surface of the object to be transferred. Therefore, it is necessary to heat the heat-sensitive adhesive to a temperature at which it sufficiently softens and melts, and pressure is necessary to cause it to become entangled.

When the material to be transferred is made of fibrous material, the surface is rough and absorbent, so that the adhesive is likely to get entangled therewith. On the other hand, the plastic from which the instruments, nameplate, and +i IN are made has a smooth surface and is water-retentive, but thermoplastic plastic softens when heated, so pressure is applied to entangle the adhesive of the transfer foil. I can do things. At this time, if the softened surface of the plastic and the adhesive of the foil have affinity for each other, the entanglement will progress more easily. However, it is difficult to adhere to plastics that do not soften due to heat during hot stamping using only the adhesive strength of the adhesive when it is melted.

In the present invention, as the film to which the transfer foil is difficult to adhere, a plastic material that does not easily soften due to heat is used. Such plastics include epoxy resin, polyester resin,
Examples include urethane resin, phenol resin, melamine resin, diallyl phthalate resin, etc. Furthermore, polyamide resins, acrylic resins, cellulose resins, etc. can also be used after being cured with additives such as isocyanates. Further, ultraviolet curable resins, electron beam curable resins, etc. are also preferable because their cured films are heat resistant.

Next, in order to form a coating of these resins in close contact with the portions of the transfer target where the transfer foil is not desired to be transferred, this is generally done by turning the resin into a liquid and coating or printing it on the necessary portions. However, if coating printing is difficult due to the work process, these resins may be made in the form of a transfer foil and transferred to the required areas to form a coating.

In fact, by using transfer foil, you can make superior products. For these resin coatings, it is preferable to select a resin that has a softening temperature that is at least 30°C higher than the softening temperature of the molded object (the softening temperature of the fat).It is advantageous to use point-curing resins. be.

In addition, when forming a resin film in the form of a transfer foil, the foil is made by applying the resin solution to a base film and further applying an adhesive. Moreover, since some commercially available transfer foils are made from the above-mentioned resin coating, such transfer foils may be reused.

Further, a commercially available transfer foil can be used for transferring only the necessary portions of the transferred object. In this case, it is necessary to select and use a foil that will not be transferred to the resin coating. The selection criteria can be used in many cases by selecting a foil that cannot be overprinted (double stamped). This is because there is no affinity between the resin coating and the foil adhesive.

To carry out the present invention, a thin film of resin to which the transfer foil does not adhere easily is formed on the part of the object to be transferred to which the transfer foil is not desired to be transferred, by means of coating or transfer, and then the transfer is performed on the thin film of the resin to which the transfer foil is difficult to adhere. Place the transfer foil to be transferred, use a top-down transfer machine, a roll-type transfer machine, etc., and apply heat and pressure to transfer.

Although the transfer temperature varies depending on the object to be transferred, good results are obtained if the transfer is performed at a temperature and pressure slightly lower than the general transfer conditions. This is to make the difference in surface condition as wide as possible (and to ensure sufficient selectivity). If this film is applied as a transfer foil, the release agent will remain on the surface, so the result will be good. When transferred, the transfer foil is transferred except for the part where the film was formed,
Partial transfer is completed.

In the present invention, unlike the masking method, there is no need to peel off the masking film after transfer, and there is no need to use expensive partially vapor-deposited foil. Furthermore, the film remains in close contact with the surface of the object to be transferred without the foil being transferred. So the instrument,
In the case of products with windows such as nameplates, a colorless and transparent resin film may be used as the coating. Conversely, by arranging colored coatings in a pattern and transferring foil to the entire surface, it is possible to create a beautiful decorative board with a colored pattern on the entire foil transfer surface. At this time, if a transparent plate is used, the pattern can be seen from the front and back.

In many cases, the film remaining on the window portion, etc. has better heat resistance, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, etc. than the plastic body of the transferred object, and therefore has the effect of protecting the window portion, etc.

In addition, when the coating for the window portion is formed on a transfer foil and transferred, the difference in thickness between the window portion and other transfer foil portions can be almost eliminated. As a result, the border becomes clear when viewed from the back side. This is because the transfer foil did not adhere and remained on the film.
This is because the boundary line with the transferred foil is reproduced extremely faithfully and there is no overlap. Therefore, with the partial transfer of the present invention, even delicate and precise patterns can be faithfully reproduced.
