Conventionally, rings for spinning machines are made of carbon steel, which is heat treated by carburizing and quenching to achieve a surface hardness of Hv800.
~900, formed with a hardening depth of 0.4~0.5mm.
However, with the above heat treatment method, the life of the ring is
The limit was 3 to 4 years in the cotton spinning field, and 1 to 2 years in the synthetic fiber field. The reason for this is that when carbon steel is used as the ring material, the surface hardness decreases due to the high temperatures generated when the traveler slides on the ring flange.
This is thought to be due to an increase in sliding wear caused by the traveling of the traveler. Furthermore, the above-mentioned conventional rings are prone to corrosion, and have problems such as premature peeling and wear and thread breakage due to corrosion.

The present invention solves the above-mentioned drawbacks, and consists of a substantially flat ring-shaped silicon carbide ceramic whose flange part has been subjected to surface smoothing treatment, and a neck part and ring rail fitting part made of carbon steel, light alloy, or plastic. A ring for spinning machines is constructed by bonding together the body with a resin-based or inorganic adhesive to improve abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance, and improve yarn quality with longer life and stable spinning. To provide a ring for a spinning machine that can be maintained well.

FIG. 1 is a sectional view of the main parts of a ring for a spinning machine showing one embodiment of the present invention, in which the flange portion 1 is molded into a predetermined shape by casting using a raw material whose composition is silicon carbide and fired at a high temperature. A ceramic material having a hardness of 2000 to 2500 Hv is formed, and the body part 3 including the ring rail fitting part 2 other than the flange part is machined into a predetermined shape from carbon steel or a light alloy.

The flange portion 1 and body portion 3 are bonded and fixed together by brazing or with a rubber-based, resin-based, or inorganic adhesive, thereby forming a ring 4 for a spinning machine according to the present invention. In addition, as a ceramic material, silicon carbide has high strength, chemical resistance, and wear resistance, and its thermal conductivity is approximately the same as that of a metal traveler (Fe0.1 to 0.15, Sic0.16), so it is suitable for traveling of a traveler. This is preferable because it has the advantage of easily dissipating the heat generated by the process, being less likely to cause traveler burn or wear, and extending the life of the traveler. Other ceramic materials used include alumina and titanium carbide. Furthermore, in order to impart smoothness to the ceramic material, wrapping and polishing may be applied as necessary.

Furthermore, the neck part, body part, and fitting part, excluding the flange part, are integrally formed of plastic, FRp, CFRp, GFRp, etc., and can be assembled with a ceramic flange, and can be machined by conventional turning, surface treatment, etc. It is also possible to streamline the production process by omitting processing steps such as heat treatment.

As mentioned above, in this invention, at least the flange part of the ring is made of ceramic material (fine ceramic) and the surface is smoothed, so there is no appreciative wear when the traveler runs, and the contact part with the traveler is It can withstand the high temperatures that occur and does not reduce its hardness, so wear due to traveler slipping is greatly reduced, and since it has high thermal conductivity, it has good heat dissipation and does not cause traveler burn. Furthermore, since it has a chemically stable crystal structure, it is not subject to corrosion or oxidation, and wear due to corrosion or oxidation is also prevented.

In addition, by applying surface smoothing treatment, the traveler runs smoothly without generating sparks, and there is no scattering, thread breakage, or abnormal wear of the traveler.
High-speed operation with a spindle rotation speed of 20,000 rpm or more is possible. Therefore, the lifespan is greatly extended. In addition, the main parts of the ring, excluding the flange, are integrally formed of plastic, FRp, CFRp, GFRp, etc., and can be replaced with a ceramic flange, allowing for machining by turning, surface treatment, heat treatment, etc. This is a device that has excellent effects such as being able to omit processes and achieve significant rationalization.
