Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate replacement operation by making an ink cartridge freely detachable with respect to a recording head part while providing an engaging means between the ink cartridge and the recording head part and making it possible to simultaneously detaching the recording head part through the engaging means at the time of replacement. CONSTITUTION:In such a state that an ink cartridge 1 is mounted on a recording head part 2, the recording head part 2 is positioned to be held by stopper members 3B and, further, a lock lever 13 is stretched over the ink cartridge 1 from above to fix and mount the whole to a carriage 3. Since the ink cartridge 1 is mounted to the recording head part 2 so that connection force stronger than the holding force by the stopper members 3B holding the recording head part 2 to the carriage 3 is held, in the case of detachment, the ink cartridge 1 can be easily detached along with the recording head part 2 only by releasing the locked state due to the lock lever 13 and, therefore, after both of them are detached, for example, the ink cartridge 1 or the recording head part 2 can be easily separated.

Detailed Description of the Invention [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention relates to an ink cartridge, and more specifically, the present invention relates to an ink cartridge that contains ink, is integrated with a recording head and is mounted on a carriage, and is connected to the recording head as the ink is consumed. relates to an ink cartridge that can be separated and replaced.

[Prior Art] Various types of recording devices have been developed in the past, but for example, an impact type is one in which an ink ribbon is interposed between a recording head and a recording sheet, and recording is performed by applying an impact to the ink ribbon. There are disadvantages such as noise caused by impact and difficulty in recording at high density. In addition, although the thermal type allows the head section to be made smaller and the recording density to be higher, it is necessary to use thermal paper, and plain paper cannot be used. Furthermore, in the thermal transfer method, an ink ribbon is interposed between the recording head and the recording sheet, and recording is performed by applying heat to the ribbon, but if the paper has a rough surface, clear recording cannot be expected. In addition to high running costs, there are also problems with recording speed.

In response to the above points, inkjet recording devices have
Ink is supplied from the tank containing the ink to the recording surface, and the ink is selectively ejected from the ejection ports provided in the head to perform recording, without the need for the recording head to come into direct contact with the recording sheet. Clear records can be obtained without being affected by the roughness of the paper surface.

In particular, in the case of inkjet systems, it is relatively easy to increase the density of the ejection ports, making it possible to perform high-precision recording, and because the head can be easily miniaturized, it is possible to print not only monochrome images with a compact device. Clear color recording can be performed. Incidentally, this type of inkjet recording apparatus generally includes a replaceable ink-containing cartridge 2, that is, an ink cartridge, and ink is supplied from the ink cartridge to the recording head via a supply pipe, but the arrangement of the supply pipe is This is complicated and not only affects the assembly cost of the device, but also makes it difficult to downsize the entire device.

Furthermore, if the supply tube is a flexible tube, if it is left unattended or shaken during movement, there is a risk that air will get into the supply tube and cause ink to fail to be ejected. It becomes necessary to provide a sub-tank as a trap. In addition, when replacing inks of different quality, for example color 9, with different concentrations, viscosity, and solvents, it is necessary to clean and dry not only the recording head but also the supply tube, which is a practical problem. It is difficult for different users to use ink.

However, the recording head unit 10 as shown in FIG.
1, the ink storage section 101B is configured within the unit 101, so if the capacity of the ink storage section 101B is small,
unit 101 before the end of the recording head's lifespan.
The whole thing has to be replaced, which increases running costs. Furthermore, increasing the capacity of the ink storage section 101B requires a large load on the carriage motor, which is not suitable for high-speed recording.

Therefore, although not shown in the drawings, an idea has been disclosed in which an ink injection section is provided in the ink storage section, and ink is replenished from the ink injection section when the ink runs out. Although the above-mentioned problems are solved according to the present invention, on the other hand, when a user injects ink from the injection part, there is a risk that the ink may overflow or spill, staining hands, clothes, and documents.

Since the ink cartridge 202 in such a recording head unit 201 is replaceable, it can be small, and it goes without saying that the load on the carriage drive motor of a serial printer equipped with an ink cartridge can be reduced. Since the ink cartridge 202 can be replaced without injecting ink, ink will not be spilled during injection.

Also, here, when the ink cartridge 1 is attached to the recording head unit 2, a bonding force stronger than the holding force by the stopper member 3B that holds the recording head unit 2 to the carriage 3 is maintained, so when removing the ink cartridge 1, is the lock lever
13, the ink cartridge l can be easily removed together with the recording head unit 2,
Therefore, after removing both, for example, ink cartridge 1.
Whether replacing the recording head section 2 or the recording head section 2, these can be easily separated. Furthermore, no matter what happens, only the recording head section 2 will never be removed from the carriage 3.
