This invention measures the speed of a motorcycle by emitting radio waves (for example, 10.525 GHz radio waves) toward the motorcycle from the front side in the direction of travel of the object to be measured, and measuring the reflected waves of the radio waves. The present invention relates to a motorcycle radio wave receiver for receiving the radio waves so that the driver of the motorcycle, which is the object to be measured, can confirm whether or not the radio waves are correctly reflected by the motorcycle during measurement.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, there have been radio wave receivers for automobiles that receive radio waves emitted from outside the automobile, for example, radio waves emitted from the front in the direction of travel of the automobile, within the automobile. When this radio wave receiver receives a radio wave, it produces an alarm sound, etc., or lights up a light emitting diode, etc., so that the driver can confirm that the radio wave has been received.

By the way, there is a desire to use the above-mentioned radio wave receiver on a motorcycle. However, unlike inside a car, motorcycles make a lot of noise while running, and since the driver wears a helmet, it is almost impossible to hear alarm sounds and the like when radio waves are received. Note that it is not desirable from a safety standpoint to listen to alarm sounds by wearing earphones or the like inside a helmet. Furthermore, by attaching a car radio receiver to a dash board or the like in the car interior, the radio receiver can be placed within the main range of the driver's forward field of vision. However, on motorcycles, the radio receiver is attached to the steering wheel, etc. The receiver will be placed around the bottom of the driver's forward field of vision. Moreover, motorcycles vibrate more violently than cars. For this reason, simply using a lighting display such as a light emitting diode has the problem that it is difficult for the driver to reliably recognize the lighting.

Therefore, when using this type of radio wave receiver on a motorcycle, it is difficult for the driver to instantly and reliably confirm the reception of radio waves, making it difficult to put the radio wave receiver for motorcycles into practical use.

According to the invention, the radio receiver mounted on the handlebar of the motorcycle by the case is placed within the driver's forward field of vision. When the radio wave reception unit receives radio waves transmitted toward the motorcycle from the front side in the direction of travel of the motorcycle, the strobe emits a flash of intense light, and the flash passes through the transparent window of the case and is transmitted to the handlebars outside the case. Since the radio waves are emitted toward the rear and upper side of the motorcycle driver, the driver can instantly and reliably recognize the reception of the radio waves by the flash of the strobe light.

Next, the radio wave receiving section 6 has a reception opening 10 opened forward at its center, and the front end of the opening 10 is widened in the vertical and horizontal directions. Further, the reception display section 8 is composed of a strobe (discharge tube) 12 that emits flash light, and this strobe 12 is located at the rear end side of the case 1 and is approximately parallel to the printed circuit board 5.
It is mounted horizontally on a printed circuit board 13 fixed at an angle of 45 degrees. Also, the printed circuit board 1
3 is provided with a pilot lamp 14 made of a green light emitting diode and a reception indicator lamp 15 made of a red light emitting diode. A slope 17 inclined at approximately 45 degrees is formed at the rear corner of the upper cover 3 in correspondence with the strobe 12 and both lamps 14 and 15, and a transparent window 18 made of transparent acrylic material or the like is formed on this slope 17. is embedded.
Note that the transparent window 18 has an outer surface protruding in a triangular shape, and a mesh-like groove is provided on the inner surface, so that light from the inside can be easily diffused to the outside. Note that the first

Next, the receiving circuit section 7 will be explained. That is, as shown in FIG. 3, the radio waves at the frequency received by the radio wave receiving unit 6, which is a receiving antenna, are transmitted from the pulse generation circuit 23 to the pulse amplification circuit 24, and are oscillated by the local oscillator 25 at a frequency of 0 . It is mixed with the pulse by the mixer 26, and the difference between the pulses and the received signal becomes a reception frequency of 0 to . This is a so-called superheterodyne configuration. The signal then passes through the intermediate frequency amplification circuit 27, the detection circuit 28, and the low frequency signal amplification circuit 29, and reaches the signal control circuit 30. The signal control circuit 30 causes the reception indicator lamp 15 to be lit. At the same time, the signal from the signal control circuit 30 reaches the strobe circuit 31, and the strobe circuit 31 causes the strobe 12 to emit light periodically at a light emission cycle of 8 to 9 times per second.

The case 1 of the radio wave receiver configured as described above is mounted on the handlebar 34 of a motorcycle 33 as shown in FIG. When the front end of the case 1 is faced in the direction of travel of the motorcycle (direction of arrow a), the slope 17 on the rear end of the case 1 is directed approximately toward the driver's face (direction of arrow b). Then, when a radio wave is transmitted toward the motorcycle from the front side in the direction of travel of the motorcycle, this is received by the radio wave receiving section 6 as described above, and is transmitted via the receiving circuit section 7 to the strobe 12 of the reception display section 8. is periodically emitted with bluish-white light. The flash light from the strobe 12 is emitted from the transparent window 18 of the case 1 in the direction of arrow b toward the rear and upper side of the handlebar 34, which is within the field of view of the motorcycle driver. Therefore, the driver can instantly and reliably confirm the flash of the strobe 12, and the driver can confirm that the radio wave receiver has received the radio waves transmitted toward the motorcycle from the front side in the direction of travel of the motorcycle. The person can be instantly and reliably confirmed by the flash of the strobe light 12.

In this invention, the reception of radio waves is indicated by the periodic flashing of a strobe light, so unlike in the interior of a car, there is a lot of noise while driving, and if you wear a helmet, you can't hear alarm sounds, etc. Even on motorcycles that cannot receive signals, drivers can instantly check whether they are receiving radio waves. Furthermore, the flash from a strobe is much more intense than the light from a light emitting diode, etc., so even if the radio receiver is placed near the bottom of the driver's front field of vision and the motorcycle is subject to strong vibrations, the driver cannot Strobe flashes can be reliably recognized. Therefore, it is possible to put into practical use a radio wave receiver for motorcycles, which has been difficult to put into practical use in the past because it is difficult for the driver to confirm the reception of radio waves.
