3T162 series, August 1985. The automatic transmission main body shown in this figure is located in the engine room together with the engine, while the electronic control unit that controls the operation of the automatic transmission is located in the instrument panel on the passenger compartment side. The reason why the electronic control unit is disposed inside the vehicle interior is that the environment inside the vehicle interior is favorable. That is, if it is placed inside the vehicle, the effects of temperature, humidity, water, mud, etc. will be alleviated compared to when it is placed outside the vehicle, and this is advantageous in terms of the A-axis properties of the electronic control unit.

This is because the automatic transmission main body and the electronic control unit are mounted separately on the vehicle, and it is necessary to generate a predetermined performance when the two are combined. For this reason, it is necessary to manage the quality of the automatic transmission itself, the quality of the electronic control unit alone, and the quality of the system that combines the two. Ultimately, quality can only be achieved when installed in a vehicle. cannot be confirmed. For this reason, a large number of man-hours are required, as in the case of double series.

A select position switch 12 is attached to the side of the switch. A drive arm provided outside the casing 14 of the select position switch 12! 6 is connected to a driving rod 18. The driving rod 18 is interlocked with a select lever (not shown) and moves in the axial direction in response to a select operation. The drive arm 16 is connected to rotate together with a rotating shaft 20 that penetrates the casing 14 and enters the inside thereof, and a manual shaft (not shown) that drives a spool of a manual valve. A movable contact arm 22 is connected to the other end of the rotating shaft 20 so as to rotate together with the movable contact arm 22. The movable contact arm 22 faces a fixed contact 24 provided on the inner surface of the wall 14b of the casing 14 on the side opposite to the wall 14a on the side adjacent to the drive arm 16. Fixed contact 2
4 are arranged according to a predetermined pattern in the rotating direction of the movable contact arm 22. The movable contact arm 22 has a movable contact corresponding to the fixed contact 24 . The electronic control unit 26 is arranged between the wall 14a of the casing 14 and the movable contact arm 22, and is fixed to the casing 14. The wiring 28 from the electronic control unit 26 is connected to a connector 30 that can be connected to a connector outside the casing 14. The casing 14 made of conductive material has a sealed structure, and the connector 30 is water resistant. The connector 30 is connected to a solenoid, a vehicle speed sensor, etc. inside the automatic transmission body 10, and a throttle opening sensor, an engine control device, etc. outside the automatic transmission body 10. Note that the fixed contact 24 is connected to an electronic control unit 26 inside the casing 14.

As a result, gear change control, line pressure control, etc. of the automatic transmission are executed. On the other hand, when the drive arm 16 rotates, the movable contact arm 22 also rotates, causing a predetermined fixed contact 24 to conduct. As a result, for example, No. 15 corresponding to each select position of P, R, N, D, 2, and 1 is set to the electronic control unit 26.
is man-powered. Select position from this fixed contact 24 (
No. 2 is used for speed change control, etc. as described above, and the select position signal is outputted to the outside through the connector 30, and is used for lighting a panel displaying the select position, lighting a back lamp, etc. Since the casing 14 has a sealed structure, the functions of the electronic control unit 26 and the fixed contacts 24 are not inhibited by water or dirt. Furthermore, since the electronic control unit 26 is sealed within the casing 14 made of a conductive material, it is electromagnetically shielded and is not affected by external electromagnetic noise. Furthermore, since the quality can be checked while the electronic control unit 26 is attached to the automatic transmission main body 10, there is no need to perform quality control of the automatic transmission again after it is installed in the vehicle. Furthermore, when maintaining and inspecting the automatic transmission, it is possible to inspect the automatic transmission alone, improving work efficiency. Also,
Since the wiring becomes shorter, the connection work becomes easier and the cost is reduced. Furthermore, since the electronic control unit 26 is disposed within the casing 14 of the select position switch 12, space within the vehicle interior is not restricted.

きる。Incidentally, since the casing 14 is exposed to the outside air and is air-cooled, especially during running, it is cooled by the air flow, so there is no problem with the heat resistance of the electronic control unit 26. However, if it is desired to further improve the cooling effect, the casing 14 may be provided with cooling fins.
