リーニング装置を有する上ユニツトと、上記クリ
ーニング装置により回収された残留トナーを貯溜
するためのトナーボツクスを有する下ユニツトと
を有し、上ユニツトが下ユニツトに対して開閉可
能な画像形成装置において、 クリーニング装置から下方に突出し残留トナー
を排出する排出口と、トナーボツクスから上方へ
突設し残留トナーを受け入れる開口とが、上ユニ
ツトの開閉動作に連動して嵌脱可能となつており
、 更に、排出口を封止可能に排出口内に設けられ
たシヤツター部材と、開口に設けられた作動部材
とが、上ユニツトの開閉動作に連動して作動部材
とシヤツター部材とによる排出口の封止乃至非封
止を行なわしめ、 上ユニツトの開閉動作中に少なくともシヤツタ
ー部材と作動部材が係合しシヤツター部材が排出
口を非封止状態にしているときは、排出口と開口
とが嵌合していることを特徴とする画像形成装置
