Generally, escalators are operated at a speed of 30 m/min, and although ordinary people can ride safely at this speed, people with disabilities, etc.
Elderly people were not able to board the train with peace of mind.

For this reason, for example, as disclosed in Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 50-58785, a gate exclusively for the disabled and the elderly is provided at the entrance of an escalator, etc., and the disabled person passes through this gate and the disabled person presses the stop switch. An operating device has been proposed that, when operated, stops an escalator or the like.

However, if the escalator, etc. is always stopped after a certain period of time after the stop switch is operated (a time sufficient for passengers who boarded at the moment the stop switch was operated to reach the upper or lower floor), However, there is a drawback that, for example, even when no one is on the escalator or the like, the user always has to wait for a certain period of time, which unnecessarily increases the waiting time for people with disabilities. Such drawbacks also occur in the proposal made in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 50-20481.

On the other hand, as in Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 56-37981, the actual operating time required for boarding from the boarding point to the exit point is set in advance in a timer, so that no matter at what point the stop switch or the like is operated, A technology has also been proposed in which the escalator is stopped when a time set by a timer has elapsed based on when the last passenger boarded the escalator. In order to stop the escalator, of course it can only be used for escalators whose operating speed is always constant regardless of traffic conditions, and the timer setting time must be changed every time the operating speed changes. Therefore, it is difficult to use it for escalators that have two operating speeds, high and low, such as escalators for transportation or for people with disabilities.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described below based on the drawings. Fig. 1 is an overall side view of an escalator showing an embodiment of the present invention, and Fig. 2 is a control circuit diagram thereof, in which 1 is the escalator body, 2 is a handrail, and 3 is a board provided on the handrail 2 near the entrance of the escalator. A detection device, such as a photoelectric device, detects passengers boarding an escalator, and when the light beam is interrupted by the passenger, the contact 3a closes. Reference numeral 4 denotes a stop switch for stopping the escalator. When a disabled person wishes to use the escalator, pressing this switch 4 causes contact 7a of a self-holding relay (not shown) to be activated.
is closed and the escalator is stopped using the procedure described below. Reference numeral 5 denotes a detection device, such as a photoelectric device, which detects the passage of step 6. When the light beam is interrupted by step 6, the contact 5a closes. 11 is a counting device that starts counting when a pulse signal is input to input terminal a, and returns to zero when a pulse signal is input to reset input terminal b; 12 is a counter at the lower entrance; 13 is a comparator that compares the stored signal 12s of the storage device 12 with the output signal 11s of the counting device 11; Signal 11s≧Stored signal 1
When the time reaches 2s, a stop command 13s is output to immediately stop the operation of the escalator.

In normal operating conditions, that is, when ordinary passengers are using the escalator, the stop switch 4 is not operated and the output signal 11s of the counting device 11 is not input to the comparator 13 due to the opening of the contact 7a. does not output the stop command 13s and continues the normal operating state unless a safety device (not shown) is activated. meanwhile,
Each time the photoelectric device 3 is actuated by a passenger boarding the escalator, the number of steps 6 passing through the upper landing point is counted by the counting device 1 through the contact 5a by the actuation of the photoelectric device 5, while being reset by the closing of the contact 3a.
1 is counting, but when a disabled person or the like operates the stop switch at this time, the contact 7a closes and the output signal 11s of the counting device is input to the comparator 13. Then, for the first time, the output signal 11s of the counting device 11
and the storage signal 12s of the storage device 12 are compared to the comparison device 1.
3, but when there are no passengers on the escalator, that is, output signal 11s ≧ memory signal 12
In the case of s, the comparator 13 outputs a stop command 13s and the escalator immediately stops. On the other hand, if there are passengers on the escalator, that is, the output signal is still 1.
When 1s<memory signal 12s, the escalator is operated until the output signal 11s of the counting device 11 becomes equal to the memorized signal 12s, regardless of the operating speed of the escalator at that time, that is, the last passenger reaches the upper exit point without fail. The escalator continues to operate until the difference is reached, but when they become equal, the comparator 13 outputs a stop command 13s and the escalator stops.

As described above, according to the present invention, the number of steps forward since the last passenger got on the passenger conveyor is checked by constantly counting the steps, and when a stop switch or the like is operated, When the step, etc. on which the last passenger boarded has progressed from the landing to a preset value (in the embodiment, the number of steps that the steps existing at the landing will advance to before arriving at the exit), a stop command is automatically issued. Since the operation is stopped, the passenger conveyor can always be stopped at the optimum timing without being affected by the operating speed of the passenger conveyor when a stop switch or the like is operated. Therefore, even if it is a special passenger conveyor that has two operating speeds, high and low, and changes the operating speed appropriately depending on traffic demand, such as a passenger conveyor for public transportation or for people with disabilities, it is necessary to set the speed in advance. The present invention can be adopted without changing the numerical values.

In the above explanation, the stop switch 4 has been described as a stop switch exclusively for people with disabilities, but this is a general stop switch conventionally provided on all passenger conveyors that has the function of the stop switch of the present invention. Of course, there is no problem with the circuit configuration.
