The present invention relates to a protective material that protects the human body from toxic substances such as toxic chemicals. In recent years, protective clothing against harmful substances has been required to be made of materials that take into consideration workability, breathability, moisture permeability, etc., instead of those made of rubberized cloth that completely isolate the human body from the outside air. For example, activated carbon fiber (hereinafter referred to as ACF) is sandwiched between the outer material and the lining material, and a layer of activated carbon is sandwiched between breathable cloth so that the activated carbon absorbs harmful substances. Laminated woven fabrics,
A bonded version is being considered. however,
In this ACF fabric, there is a risk that the ACF will break and turn into powder due to bending, etc., and the activated carbon layer will be destroyed, allowing toxic substances to pass through to the human body without being completely adsorbed. The present invention aims to eliminate these drawbacks, particularly to provide a protective material that prevents destruction of the ACF layer and has sufficient air permeability, moisture permeability, and flexibility. As illustrated in FIG. 1, the protective material of the present invention has a fiber web 3 containing heat-fusible fibers 1 on at least one side, and fiber webs 3 and 4 on both sides of a sheet 5 made of ACF such as woven fabric or non-woven fabric. A laminated sheet 8 in which a lining 7 is partially adhered to one side of a sheet-like adsorbent 6 which is stacked and integrated by needle punching and whose fibers are fused by heat-fusible fibers 1, and a water-repellent It is made by overlapping and integrating the outer material 9 which has been treated with oil repellent. 2 in the figure is the main fiber forming the web. The sheet-like adsorbent 6 in the present invention is
It is an ACF fabric made by stacking and integrating webs mainly composed of man-made fibers, natural fibers, etc. on both sides, but first, at least one of the webs contains 30% or more of heat-fusible fibers. Adopt something. As the fibers, fibers made of polypropylene, polyethylene, ethylene-propylene copolymers, ethylene-vinyl acetate polymers or their saponified products, copolyester polyesters, etc., or composite fibers thereof are used. The fibers fuse and integrate the fibers as described below, and are contained in the web in an amount of 30% by weight or more, preferably 40 to 80% by weight. The adsorbent of the present invention is made by integrating the sheet of ACF fabric and the web by needle punching,
Furthermore, the web constituent fibers and ACF are further fused and integrated by melting heat-fusible fibers.
As the needle punch density increases, the integration due to the entanglement of fibers becomes stronger, but the ACF sheet is damaged and the ACF becomes powder, so the needle punch density is 10 to 50 punches/in 2.
is appropriate. The heat fusion treatment is performed by needle punching followed by heat treatment, preferably heat treatment under low pressure. In this adsorbent, the ACF sheet is covered with a web from both sides, the fibers that make up the web and the heat-fusible fibers are sewn together through the ACF sheet by needle punching, and the fibers are separated by the heat-fusible fibers. Since the ACF sheet is bonded to the web containing the fusible fibers and has a point-like or complicated net-like adhesive structure, the ACF sheet is reinforced with the web fiber layer and is susceptible to damage due to bending, etc. In addition, even if the ACF sheet is damaged, the web fibers will hold the ACF stably, preventing it from falling off or causing the ACF layer to become uneven, functioning as a homogeneous adsorbent, and ensuring sufficient ventilation. It has moisture permeability. ACF sheets can be made by carbonizing a woven or non-woven sheet made of rayon, polyvinyl alcohol fiber, phenol fiber, polyacrylonitrile fiber, etc. using the usual method and then activating it, or by activating a woven fabric made of carbon fiber. Use what you get by doing so. In the present invention, a lining 7 is adhered to one side of such a sheet-like adsorbent to form a laminated sheet 8, and a water- and oil-repellent outer material 9 is layered and integrated with this. As the lining, a knitted fabric commonly used for clothing is used, and the adsorbent is adhered in dots or lines. In order to maintain the air permeability and moisture permeability of the protective material of this invention, it is necessary to bond the lining and the absorbent material in spots or lines. Preference is given to hotmelt bonding methods using shaped bodies. The outer material of the present invention is water- and oil-repellent treated with silicone-based or fluorine-based resin. This is important to prevent the penetration of harmful substances in the form of droplets. In the present invention, in order to block such harmful substances in the form of droplets, it is preferable that the web layer on the outer side of the sheet-like adsorbent is treated to be water- and oil-repellent in the same way as the outer layer. The laminated sheet 7 and the outer material 8 do not need to be completely integrated by adhesive or the like, and may be sewn together in an overlapping manner at the stage of sewing the protective clothing or the like. When integrating the parts by adhesion or the like, as described above, a means such as partial adhesion is used that does not impede air permeability. The protective material of this invention is extremely flexible when used as clothing for pesticide spraying work, hoods, etc.
Not only does it have good breathability and moisture permeability, and is excellent in workability and wearability, but droplet-shaped harmful substances are blocked by the surface, and gaseous harmful substances are adsorbed by the adsorption layer made of ACF. Therefore, the human body is not exposed to any danger. Furthermore, since the ACF layer is integrated with the web layer, it is less likely to be damaged by bending, etc., and has high durability as a protective material. In addition, the outer material etc. can be made from flame-retardant fibers and used in combination with other purposes such as firefighting clothing. Example: A fabric made of ACF obtained from phenolic fibers (fabric weight 60 g/m 2 ) was coated on one side with a fabric made of polyester fiber (2 d x 51 mm) and water- and oil-repellent made with fluorocarbon resin (fabric weight 56 g/m 2 ). 2 ) On the other side, a mixed web of core-sheath type composite fibers made of rayon and saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) (mixing ratio 35/65, basis weight 30 g/m 2 ) was layered, and 40 punches/in. 2. Perform needle punching with a needle penetration depth of 11 mm, and heat calendar (130℃ x 6m/min).
A sheet-like adsorbent was obtained by heat treatment. Next, on the surface of the rayon/EVA web layer of the adsorbent, polyester fiber plain weave fabric (60'S/1 x 60'S/1)/60 x 60) is thermally bonded in dots as a lining through EVA powder. A laminated sheet was prepared. On the other hand, for the outer material, a woven fabric (20'S/1 x 20'S/1/57 x 57) made of a blended yarn of flame-retardant vinylon/flame-retardant polynosic fiber was used as a fluorine-based water and oil repellent (Asahi Guard AG710). (manufactured by Asahi Glass Co., Ltd.) (adhesion amount: 2%) was prepared. The laminated sheet and outer material were each cut and sewn into work clothes. The respective performances are shown in Table 1.
