Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain transfer paper capable of simply producing candles with a pattern not to fall from the candles because of excellent adhesivity between an adhesive layer and paraffin by providing release paper with a pattern layer and an adhesive layer containing rice wax with a specific melting point. CONSTITUTION:The aimed transfer paper obtained by providing release paper 1 with a pattern layer 2 and an adhesive layer 3 consisting of an adhesive containing >=50% calculated as solid content of rice wax or candy wax with 60-100 deg.C melting point to give the aimed transfer paper. The transfer paper is inserted into a mold, molten paraffin wax is cast into the mol, cooled, solidified and simultaneously the pattern layer is transferred to candles to give decorative candles.

The pattern layer (2) can be printed using any printing method such as gravure, offset, flexo, or silk, but the ink resin used must be one that has good adhesion to the adhesive, such as salt-vinyl acetate, urethane, or butyral. It is appropriate to use an ink using a binder resin such as a resin, an amino alkyd resin, an acrylic resin, or the like.

<Function> As the adhesive layer of the transfer paper, use rice wax, sox or candela wax with a melting point of 60°C to 100°C in a solid content of 5.
Since we used an adhesive containing 0% or more, the paraffin, which is the raw material for candles, did not peel off, and it was possible to transfer the image during the curing stage using the heat of the melted paraffin.

Cut the 85.00% transfer paper into small pieces and set it in a candle manufacturing mold with the pattern layer facing the center.
After inserting the wick, paraffin wax melted at 120° C. was poured into the candle. After cooling and hardening, the candle was taken out and the release paper was removed, and the pattern layer was transferred to the candle.
