(Prior art) When a pair of eaves are placed in direct contact with each other in a straight line with a gap between them, and the gap absorbs the thermal expansion and contraction of the eaves, the ends of the eaves are covered with a closing plate commonly called a "stop". At the same time, a cover is placed between the upper ends of the closing plates of each eaves to prevent rainwater from falling through the gaps. However, it was pointed out that if this was done, the gap would be visible from under the eaves, making the exterior unsightly.

Therefore, a joint made of a cylindrical body 1 as shown in FIG. 3 has been proposed. This joint is provided with recesses 21 and 31 at the upper end of one side wall 2 and the upper end of the other side wall 3 of the cylindrical body 1, and has a groove-shaped upper wall 4 and one side wall 2. The dividing end portion of the upper wall portion 4 is an overlapping portion 41 with respect to the dividing end portion (upper end portion) 22 of the one side wall portion 2. Further, a pair of hanging pieces 5, 5 are vertically provided on the upper wall portion 4.

In such a joint, the upper wall portion 4 and one side wall portion 2 are separated when the cylindrical body 1 is externally fitted to the end of the eaves A into which the closing plate B is fitted. This is for the convenience of lifting the upper wall portion 4 and inserting the locking piece 5 into the inside of the closing plate B. Therefore, after the cylindrical body 1 is externally fitted to the ends of the pair of eaves A, A, as shown in detail in FIG. are bonded together with adhesive C and integrated. The cylindrical body 1 integrated in this way has a pair of eaves A,
It allows thermal expansion and contraction of A, covers the gap from the surroundings and improves the appearance, and furthermore, the upper wall part 4 exhibits the same rainwater fall prevention effect as the above-mentioned cover.

However, as mentioned above, the divided end 2 of the one side wall 2
2 and the overlapping part 41 with adhesive C to integrate them is not only troublesome, but also requires adhesive C.
If the cylindrical body 1 deteriorates over time, the bonded parts will separate, resulting in a decrease in the strength of the cylindrical body 1.

(Problem to be Solved by the Invention) The problem to be solved by the invention is that the above-mentioned split end of one side wall of the cylindrical body 1 and the overlapping part can be integrated without using adhesive. By doing so, it is possible to prevent deterioration in workability due to the use of the adhesive or separation of the bonded parts due to deterioration of the adhesive over time.

(Means for solving the problem) A means for solving the above problem is to provide an engaging portion having a shape in side view at the divided end of either the top wall portion or one side wall portion. and this engaging portion is configured to engage with the other divided end portion in a butt-fitting manner in the vertical direction.

(Example) The joint illustrated in FIG.
Both ends in the width direction are bent downward and inward to form hanging pieces 5, 5, and an engaging part 6 is formed at the divided end of the upper wall part 4. As shown in detail in FIG. 2, the engaging portion 6 consists of an inclined portion 61 formed at the end of the hooking piece 5 and an inclined piece 62 formed by bending the upper wall portion 4 diagonally upward. The joint portion 6 has a shape in side view. On the other hand, a diagonally folded piece 221 is formed at the divided end portion 22 of the one side wall portion 2 .

According to this joint, by inserting the diagonally folded piece 221 between the inclined part 61 and the inclined piece 62, the engaging part is vertically butt-fitted to the divided end part 22 of the one side wall part 2. direction and are integrated.
Therefore, it is no longer necessary to use an adhesive as in the past. In particular, when the engaging portion 6 has the configuration shown in the illustrated example, when the upper wall portion 4 is lifted from the illustrated state, the inclined portion 61 resists the elasticity of the one side wall portion 2 and the divided end portion 22 thereof is pushed outward. Since it is pushed out and gets over the split end 22, the engagement is released. Also, when the upper wall portion 4 is pushed down from the disengaged state,
The folded piece 221 is pushed outward by the inclined portion 61 of the hooking piece 5 against the elasticity, and when the inclined portion 61 of the hooked piece 5 gets over the folded piece 221, the elasticity causes the folded piece 221 to move as shown in the figure. The folded piece 221 is engaged with the engaging portion 6. Therefore, by utilizing these effects, the cylindrical body 1 can be externally fitted to the ends of a pair of eaves placed opposite each other with good workability.

The engaging part 6 illustrated in FIG. 4 has a protruding piece 64 formed at the divided end of the upper wall part 4 where the locking piece 5 is formed, and a pair of diagonally downwardly directed pieces at both left and right ends of the protruding piece 64. 63, 63, and this engaging portion 6 also has a shape in side view. according to this,
The divided end portion 22 of the one side wall portion 2 is connected to the diagonally downward piece 63,

All of the joints equipped with the above-mentioned engaging portions are equipped with a locking piece, and by facing the closing plate of the eaves from the inside, this locking piece is prevented from falling off due to displacement of the cylindrical body. It is something. Since this hanging piece is provided vertically below the upper wall, when the joint is to be molded by injection molding, the hanging piece becomes an obstacle to release from the mold, making injection molding difficult. In such a case, if the joint can be manufactured by cutting a single band-shaped synthetic resin plate at predetermined locations and bending the plate, workability will be improved and costs can be reduced.

In this regard, both the locking piece 5 and the engaging portion 6 explained in FIGS. 1 to 7 can be easily constructed by the above-mentioned bending process. Therefore, by configuring the joint of the present invention as shown in the figure, it can be easily bent and can contribute to cost reduction.

In addition, in all the examples, the engaging part is provided on the upper wall, but by providing this engaging part on the divided end of one side wall, the engaging part can be connected to the divided end of the upper wall. It may also be configured such that it is engaged in the vertical direction.

(Functions and Effects of the Invention) As is clear from the above explanation, the joint of the present invention can integrate the top wall and one side wall without using adhesive, so it is not only superior in workability during construction. Therefore, the strength of the cylindrical body does not decrease even after long-term use. Furthermore, after construction, the gap between the pair of eaves is completely covered and smoothed, which improves the appearance.Furthermore, if it is manufactured by bending, costs can be reduced. In particular, according to the present invention, the <-shaped engaging portion of one split end is configured to engage with the other split end in a vertical direction in a butt-fitting manner. If a difference in level occurs between different eaves for some reason (for example, the weight of rainwater or deflection), and the bottom wall of one end of the cylindrical body forming the joint is pushed downward, Since the one side wall part and the other side wall part on the one end side are deformed in the direction in which the distance between them is narrowed, the engaging part and the other divided end are displaced in the direction in which they butt each other, and the engaging part and the other divided end are displaced. It becomes difficult to separate from the end portion. Since the above-mentioned level difference naturally occurs in the eaves after construction, according to the joint of the present invention, after construction, the engaging portion separates from the other split end and the joint This makes it difficult for the roof to come off the eaves.
