The present invention relates to the invention of foamable sewing thread, and provides a novel sewing thread that can suitably seal needle holes caused by needle movement. In recent years, waterproof and water-repellent materials have come to be widely used in various clothing applications. However, when sewing such products, there is a problem in that the penetration of the sewing needle and the heat generated as the needle moves creates gaps in the seams, through which rainwater and the like seep in, impairing the waterproof and water-repellent functions. Conventionally, methods to solve this problem include attaching waterproof tape to the seams or applying sealants, etc., but the processing costs are high and the dry cleaning resistance is particularly poor. There is a disadvantage that it is inferior. The present invention provides a novel and unprecedented sewing thread that eliminates such drawbacks, and its structure includes a layer treated with a mixture of a polyester resin and a heat foaming agent on the surface of the polyester yarn, and a layer on the surface of the polyester yarn. It is characterized by further providing a treated layer with a smoothing agent. The configuration will be explained in detail below. First, polyester is used as the yarn constituting the present invention. This is because it has greater strength per unit denier than other materials, and has good heat resistance and water resistance. On the other hand, as the resin to be attached to this, a polyester resin which has particularly excellent adhesiveness with polyester threads is used, and this is used as a base, and a foaming agent that foams by heating, such as a copolymer of vinylidene chloride/acrylonitrile, is used as a shell. Heat-expandable hollow microspheres encapsulating and encapsulating isobutane as a foaming agent are mixed and adhered. The blending ratio of this mixture varies depending on the application, but in order to provide good foaming properties, polyester resin 8.
It is preferable to use the foaming agent at a weight ratio of 2 to 1. Furthermore, after this treatment, a smoothing agent such as dimethylpolysiloxine or wax is applied to improve smoothness during sewing and to prevent heat generation due to needle movement and foaming of the resin, and a two-layer treatment is applied in combination with the above resin. It consists of layers. A specific example will be described below. <Example 1> Polyester woolly yarn after dyeing (110d/1
A processing agent made by mixing a water-soluble polyester resin emulsion and a heat foaming agent at a weight ratio of 8:2 was applied to ×3) using a roller touch method to give a solid content of 20% by weight, and then dried with cold air. 3% ow of dimethylpolysiloxane by roller touch method
f was attached to obtain the product of the present invention. The cross-sectional shape of the thus obtained sewing thread is schematically shown in FIG. 1, and has a structure in which a polyester thread 1 is covered with a mixed resin layer 2 and a smoothing agent layer 3. Furthermore, the water leakage properties of the seams after sewing were evaluated to be excellent as shown in Table 1. <Example 2> Polyester spun yarn after dyeing (#50/1×3)
A processing agent containing a polyester resin emulsion and a heat foaming agent in a weight ratio of 8:2 was applied to the surface using a roller touch method to give a solid content of 30% by weight, and after drying with cold air, a fluorine-based water repellent was applied. The solid content was applied using a roller touch method to give a solid content of 1% owf, and after drying with cold air, dimethylpolysiloxane was applied using a roller touch method to obtain a product of the present invention at a solid content of 3% owf. The sewing thread thus obtained obtained excellent evaluations as shown in Table 1.

When using L1092, the sewing thread of the present invention produced excellent results as described above because the resin attached to the surface swelled and blocked the needle hole. As is clear from the above results, the sewing thread of the present invention has superior effects compared to conventional sewing thread. In particular, the resin foams when heated after sewing, expands in volume, and blocks the needle hole. It can also be used for needle holes such as needle holes, and since it is a processing agent that is not easily affected by solvents, it has the characteristic of significantly improving dry cleaning resistance. In addition, in this invention, smoothness during sewing is increased,
For the purpose of improving sewing efficiency and preventing foaming due to heat generation associated with needle movement, it is desirable to form a treated layer with a smoothing agent. Further, although the drawing shows a cross section in which each treated layer is completely separated, this is only a schematic diagram, and it is assumed that there may be unevenness. As described above, the present invention has excellent features not found in the prior art.
