Abstract

PURPOSE:To allow sealing even if a contact face has some steps, irregularities or seam portions with steps by arranging a gelatinous packing material on the face to be sealed, and sealing the optionally shaped face with elastic deformation. CONSTITUTION:A projection 5 with the reduced inner volume to increase leakage detection sensitivity is provided on a flat plate-shaped supporter 1 as the guide of a body to be checked 4. A vacuum pump 8 is operated, the body to be checked 4 is covered on the projection 5 while air is sucked through an air suction hole 2, and the opening portion of the body to be checked 4 is brought into contact with a gelatinous packing 3. When the opening portion of the body to be checked 4 is brought into contact with the gelatinous packing 3, the body to be checked 4 is further pressed to the gelatinous packing 3 by the outside air pressure. The gelatinous packing 3 is elastically deformed by this pressing force, it is deformed according to the shape of a step 4A, and the other portions as well as the portion of the step 4A can be completely sealed.

Leak testing is performed by connecting an air suction port or a pressurized air outlet to the test object, sucking the air inside the test object, or supplying pressurized air to the test object. A method of determining the presence or absence of a leak by looking at changes in the air pressure inside the test object, and a method of connecting an air suction means to the test object, sucking the air inside the test object, and placing a flow meter on the suction path. However, there is also a method of determining whether there is a leak in the test object by checking whether or not the air flow disappears.

According to the leak testing jig according to the second invention, by bringing the adhered surface of the gel packing material into contact with the object to be inspected and sucking air from the air suction hole, the space surrounded by the support and the object to be inspected can be removed. It becomes a negative pressure state. As a result, a pressure contact force is generated between the support body and the object to be inspected in mutually opposing directions due to the external air pressure, and the gel-like packing material disposed therebetween is pressed against the support body and the object to be inspected.

As a result, the gel-like packing material is elastically deformed according to the shape of the object to be inspected due to the pressure contact force, and even if the surface of the object to be inspected has some level difference, unevenness, or distortion, the gel-like packing material will be able to maintain its shape. It elastically deforms according to the shape of the object to be inspected and seals between the object to be inspected and the support.

The gel packing 3 is made of a viscoelastic resin material such as konjac. A resin material having viscoelasticity such as konnyaku can be made of a material whose main components are silicone, urethane, and urethane, and a resin material having a hardness of 10 degrees or less on the hardness scale for rubber is used. Specifically, it is possible to use a resin material sold by Chemical Co., Ltd. under the trade name ``Chemic Gel,'' which is made hard enough to maintain its shape by adding additives to the resin material on sale.

It is preferable that the gel packing 3 be as thick as possible within a range of about 3 to 6 thick. Further, the width W of the ring-shaped gel packing 3 should be such that the opening surface of the object to be inspected 4 can be reliably placed on the gel packing 3. In this example, the test object 4 has a structure in which the opening part of the test object 4 is guided to the gel banking 3 by the protrusion 5, so the width W is the diameter of the base of the protrusion 5 and the opening part of the test object 4. The width may be selected to be slightly larger than the maximum value of the difference in diameter.

The protrusion 5 serves not only to guide the opening portion of the object 4 to be inspected onto the gel banking 3 but also to reduce the internal volume of the object 4 to be inspected. Therefore, the protrusion 5 is made of solid metal or resin molded product.

In this way, when only a part of the gel buffing 3 is used, the portion of the object 4 having the step 4A is covered with the gel buffing 3.
By bringing the portion of the step 4A into contact with the gel packing 3, the portion to the step 4 is sealed by the gel packing 3, and the other portions are sealed by the packing 9. Therefore, a leakage test can be performed on a container having a step 4A in the same way as when the gel packing 3 is used all around the circumference.
