Abstract

PURPOSE:To meet excavating control by computer as well as safely and exactly detect tail clearance by a method in which displacing meters are set on the inner surface of tail seal, and measured values are taken out as electric signals. CONSTITUTION:Four sets of displacing meters 3 are set on the inner surface of the tail seal 2 of a shield machine 1 to detect the clearance between the tail seal 2 and the segment 4, and the measured values are taken out as electric signals. The signals are directed through a converter 5 to a monitor 6 where the data are graphically displayed and also put in outside computer to meet an excavating control system on real time.
