Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent sheets from being fed in a superposed condition and being fed erroneously, by changing the pressing force of a pressing means for pressing a sheet against a feed roller, in association with a sheet guide. CONSTITUTION:A sheet 2 which is loaded on a lift plate 3, is pressed against a feed roller 1 by means of a spring 10 through the intermediary of the lift plate 3. If the size of a sheet is small, levers 8a, 8b do not make contact with cam parts 9a, 9b on a sheet guide so that a spring attaching surface 7 is located at a lowest position. If the size of a sheet is large, the cam parts 9a, 9b are associatingly opened in the direction of the arrow 5, and the levers 8a, 8b are rotated in the direction of the arrow 4 by the cam parts 9a, 9b on the sheet guide.
