Abstract

PURPOSE:To make possible the selection between the functions of a switch on a control panel by adding a template which is detachable by replacement on the panel. CONSTITUTION:A template 1 is installed in freely detachable manner on a control panel 7, and any appropriate one of the functions of switches on the panel can be selected for processing depending on whether the template 1 is present. A hall element 4 is provided as a sensor on a main printer system for detection of the template 1 so that the presence of the template 1 is determined. A signal is generated by the synergic effect of the hall element and the template. If the switch on the control panel is pressed when the signal from the hall element 4 is ON, the control section 3 of a printer controls the template so that a particular function corresponding to the name described on the template is driven.
