Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain mixed spun yarn useful as mop, mat, etc., capable of surely maintaining a twisted state, free from untwisting, fluff formation and fraying by subjecting cotton and low-melting synthetic fibers into mixed spinning and heat-treating to melt the low-melting synthetic fibers. CONSTITUTION:Cotton 1 and low-melting synthetic fibers (e.g., polyester having 110-130 deg.C melting point) 2 are subjected to mixed spinning, heat-treated and the low-melting synthetic fibers are melted to give the aimed mixed spun yarn wherein the low-melting synthetic fibers 2 melted between the cotton 1 are attached to the cotton 1 and the cotton fibers are mutually bonded.

Furthermore, low melting point nylon or the like having a melting point of 110 to 120°C may be used. Cotton fibers decompose at around 160℃, so
Low-melting synthetic fibers with a melting point of 110 to 130°C are used. The composition ratio of this low melting point synthetic fiber 2 is preferably 50% or less; if it is more than that, the thread becomes stiff and becomes unthreadable.

The blended yarn according to the present invention is produced by mixing 1,1... cotton and 2,2... low melting point synthetic fibers, and after passing through a normal cotton yarn spinning process or twisting process, Manufactured by heat treatment at a temperature of 130°C. Note that the heat treatment may be carried out in the presence of steam.
2... is melted by heating at a temperature near the melting point, and is evenly mixed and attached to cotton 1.1...
Glue... Therefore, the produced blended yarn can securely maintain the twisting and mutual bonding of the cotton fibers, and can prevent fuzzing and fraying of the yarns. Furthermore, when heated in the presence of steam, moisture is not lost from the cotton fibers and the feel of the cotton can be maintained. Note that the heat treatment may be performed under pressure.
