A groove-type conveying roller 4 is installed at the bottom of each zone, and a pair of left and right side rollers are installed at the ceiling. A guide rail 5 is provided, and a scale discharge opening 6 is provided in the hearth. The opening 6 is connected to a water seal trough 11 provided at the bottom of the furnace body.

Reference numeral 10 denotes a partition wall that divides the soaking chamber R into upper and lower sections, and allows the temperature of the two chambers R 1 and R 2 to be controlled by adjusting the combustion amount of the radiant burners 9a and 9b. Moreover, the side burner 9c heats the lower surface of the slab W.
