囲するように前記ステアリングボデイ3と一体的
に形成された筒状ハウジングで、車輛側に組付け
られる一対の取付ブラケツト8,8などを備えて
いるとともに、その両端側で前記タイロツド7と
の間には蛇腹状弾性筒体(ブーツ)9,9が配設
されてその部分からのシール性を確保するような
構成とされている。

保するうえでボデイハウジング3a等に厳しい加
工精度が要求され、加工性の面で問題を生じるも
のであつた。すなわち、この種の舵取り装置1に
おけるラツク5には、タイロツド7側との関連に
おいてかなりの揺動変位が加わるもので、このよ
うなラツク5を筒状を呈する剛体であるブツシユ
10で保持すると、ラツク5の揺動変位によつて
は点接触状態でブツシユ10と当接することとな
り、その結果ブツシユ10内径部と片当り状態と
なり易く、これら摺動部分での耐久性が低下する
等といつた問題を生じるものであつた。そして、
このようなラツク5とブツシユ10との関係によ
れば、無用な衝突により騒音等の発生を避けられ
ず、またラツク5の自由度が妨げられるため、そ
の適正な動作性能を維持するうえでも問題をもつ
もので、何らかの対策を講じることが望まれてい
る。

ラツクをその揺動変位の如何にかかわらず、適正
かつ確実に嵌合保持し、その安定した摺動動作を
確保し得るもので、これにより従来のようなラツ
クの片当り等といつた問題は解消され、この摺動
部分での耐久性を焼結材によるブツシユにて大幅
に向上させることができ、またステアリングボデ
イ側での加工精度を緩和し、その加工性を向上さ
せ得る等といつた実用上種々優れた効果がある。
