【表】[Detailed Description of the Invention] Industrial Application Field The present invention relates to a braided cord as a contact material for use in purifying wastewater through the self-purifying action of microorganisms. BACKGROUND ART Recently, with the spread of purification treatment by the so-called contact aeration method, which utilizes the self-purifying action of microorganisms on wastewater, various forms of contact aeration consisting of string-like bodies formed to allow easy attachment of microorganisms have been developed. materials have been proposed. Among these contact materials, those made by forming a large number of uniformly sized ring-shaped bodies (loop shapes) around the core material (for example,
No. 56-28199) is considered to be of practical importance because it has the effect of attracting a large number of microorganisms during sewage treatment. However, in the above-mentioned known contact materials, the ring formed around the core material has a thread-like cross section with a circular cross section, so its specific surface area is sufficient for effective colonization of microorganisms during wastewater treatment. Not, but
It was also found that the rigidity of the loop itself was insufficient to exhibit adaptability to the concentration gradient of wastewater. Problems to be Solved by the Invention In view of the problems encountered in contact materials for sewage treatment in which a large number of loop-shaped bodies are formed as described above, the inventor of the present invention aimed to further increase the specific surface area and increase the rigidity of the loops themselves. As a result of studying how to improve the performance of the braided cord, we found that by using a braided cord as a contact material and using threads with various irregular cross sections for the strands that form the loop among the strands that make up the braid, The present invention was developed based on the knowledge that if the cross section of the single fibers constituting the loops formed in large numbers in the longitudinal and circumferential directions is made into an irregular shape, the specific surface area of the contact material increases and the rigidity of the loops themselves also improves. I was able to accomplish this. That is, the present invention provides a contact material made of a braided cord, which has a specific surface area suitable for effectively adhering microorganisms and sludge, and which can purify wastewater more efficiently through the self-purifying action of microorganisms. The purpose is to provide The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Structure of the invention The feature of the invention is that it consists of a braided cord in which a part of the strands constituting the braid are formed into a large number of loop shapes, and the loops are made of a fiber single yarn having an irregular cross section or an irregular hollow cross section. This is a contact material for sewage treatment made of braided cord. That is, the braided cord according to the present invention is characterized in that a part of the strands constituting the braided cord for forming the loop is made using a fiber single yarn having an irregular cross section or an irregular hollow cross section. It is. The fiber filament having an irregular cross section or an irregular hollow cross section used to form a loop in the present invention has a cross section of various shapes as illustrated in the attached drawings. In the accompanying drawings, FIG.
The figures illustrate examples of atypical hollow cross sections. Note that the shape of the cross section is not particularly limited as long as it is different from the conventional circular cross section. The fiber single yarn itself having such an irregular cross section or an irregular hollow cross section is known, and the method for preparing it is disclosed, for example, in the "Performance Table of Modified Fibers" (prepared by the Technical Committee of the Japan Chemical Fibers Association). . Effects of the invention In the braided cord according to the invention, the loop formed using a part of the strands constituting the braid is composed of a fiber single yarn having an irregular cross section or an irregular hollow cross section as described above. Not only has the specific surface area of the braided cord itself increased compared to conventional ones, but its rigidity has also improved, so when using it as a contact material for sewage purification,
Since the colonization effect of active microorganisms becomes higher and the adaptability to the concentration gradient of wastewater becomes better, the purification treatment of wastewater can be carried out more efficiently. The table below specifically shows the effects of treating wastewater using the contact material made of the braided cord of the present invention. 【table】
