Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent rainwater from dropping in undesired manner when the rear door of a car is rotated up to open by exhausting the rainwater attached to the rear door to a drip rail at the tail of the roof from a circumferential groove formed at the rear door through a pair of communication grooves. CONSTITUTION:In a car 1 a rear door 3 is installed at the rear of the body 2 in such an arrangement as to be rotated up and down with the roof rail 4 as fulcrum, and thus the opening 5 at the rear is opened and closed. A drip rail 6 is installed at the roof tail 4. At the rear door 3 an outer and an inner panel 7, 8 are fitted, and a window glass 9 is furnished in the upper part. Therein, a circumferential groove 10 is formed throughout the periphery on the outer surface of the rear door 3. At the top of the rear door 3 a pair of communication grooves 11, 12 are formed in continuity to this circumferential groove 10. When the rear door 3 is opened, rainwater attached thereto is drained from the circumferential groove 10 to the drip rail 6 via the communication grooves 11, 12.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] a. INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION FIELD The present invention relates to a rear door of a motor vehicle. b. 2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, automobiles equipped with a cap-over type luggage compartment have, for example, a rear door 51 as shown in FIG. 5 rotatably provided on the rear surface of the vehicle body via a hinge. Therefore, in this type of automobile, by rotating the rear door 51 toward the top of the vehicle body when loading and unloading light objects,
The rear leg opening of the vehicle is configured so that it can be opened completely. C. Problem to be Solved by the Invention However, in the conventional rear door 51 described above, the outer surface of the outer panel 52 is formed as a flat surface as shown in FIG. When loading and unloading cargo, there was an inconvenience in that raindrops fell along the surface of the rear door 51 from both sides as shown by the arrows, and the cargo being worked on got wet and was damaged. For this reason,
Depending on the cargo, loading and unloading operations in the rain may be difficult. On the other hand, drip rails, drip moldings, etc. are installed on the roof sides and the rear end of the vehicle body to prevent raindrops from falling from the roof. The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned circumstances, and its object is to provide a rear door for an automobile that can eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks. d. Means for solving the problem The above conventional technology has! ! In order to solve the problem, in the present invention, in an automobile in which the rear opening of the vehicle body can be opened by rotating the rear door provided on the rear surface of the vehicle body upward, the outer surface of the rear door is provided with a A circumferential groove is provided over the entire circumference, and a communication groove is provided at the upper end of the rear door that connects with a portion of the circumferential groove located above the vehicle body, and when the rear door is in an open state, the communication groove is provided through the communication groove. The circumferential groove communicates with the rear end of the roof on the vehicle body side. e
.. EXAMPLES The present invention will be explained in detail below based on illustrated examples. 1 to 4 show an embodiment of the rear door of an automobile according to the present invention. In the figure, reference numeral 1 denotes an automobile equipped with a cab-over type luggage compartment, and a rear door 3 is provided on the rear surface of a vehicle body 2 constituting the rear portion of the automobile 1. This rear door 3 is rotatably attached to the roof rear end portion 4 of the vehicle body 2 via a hinge (not shown) or the like.
The rear opening 5 of the vehicle body 2 can be opened by rotating it upward. The upper end of the rear door 3 is adjusted so that it is located slightly below the lower end in the open state. A trough-shaped drip rail 6 is provided at the rear end portion 4 of the roof of the vehicle body 2 along the inside direction of the vehicle to catch raindrops. The rear door 3 is made up of an outer panel 7 and an inner panel 8 made of sheet metal, and a window glass 9 is provided at the top. and rear door 3
A circumferential groove 10 is provided along the entire circumference on the outer surface of the panel, and the circumferential groove 10 is formed by recessing the peripheral part of the slightly upwardly curved outer panel 7 toward the inch panel 8 side by press working. ing. Further, at the upper end of the rear door 3, a pair of communication grooves 11 and 12 connected to the circumferential groove 10 located above the vehicle body are arranged at intervals in the direction of the inside of the vehicle.
These communication grooves 11 and 12 are formed by the same processing method as the circumferential groove 10 so as to extend from the circumferential groove 10 to the upper end edge of the rear door 3. However, the drip rail 6 on the vehicle body 2 side
and the circumferential groove 10 are the communication groove 11 and the circumferential groove 10 when the rear door 3 is in the open state.
It is designed to communicate via 12. In the automobile 1 having the above configuration, in order to load and unload cargo during rain, the rear opening 5 of the vehicle body 2 is opened by rotating the rear door 3 upward as shown in FIGS. 1 and 4. When opened, rainwater falling on the outer surface of the rear door 3 flows into the circumferential groove 10 as shown by the arrow in FIG.
The rainwater that has flowed into the circumferential groove 10 flows toward the upper end of the rear door 3 as shown by the arrow in FIG.
It flows into the drip rail 6 of the roof rear end 4,
It is discharged from the vehicle along both the left and right sides of the vehicle body 2. In this embodiment, the rear door 3 includes a circumferential groove 10 and communication grooves 11 and 12.
As a result, even if cargo is loaded or unloaded during rain, raindrops will not fall from both sides of the open rear door 3. Further, since the circumferential groove 10 is formed by recessing the peripheral portion of the outer panel 7, it is possible to increase the rigidity of the rear door 3. Although one embodiment of the present invention has been described above, the present invention is not limited to the embodiment described above, and various modifications and changes can be made based on the technical idea of the present invention. For example, in the embodiments described above, the rear door 3 is provided on the cab-over type automobile 1, but it goes without saying that the present invention can be applied to other types of automobiles having a rear door, such as a hatchback type automobile. Further, a drip molding or the like may be provided in place of the drip rail 6 at the rear end portion 4 of the roof, and the drip molding and the communication grooves 11, 12 may be communicated with each other. Furthermore, it goes without saying that the number of communication grooves 11 and 12 to be installed can be selected as appropriate depending on the applicable vehicle model. f.
Effects of the Invention As described above, in the rear door of an automobile according to the present invention, the circumferential groove provided over the entire circumference of the outer surface communicates with the rear end of the roof on the vehicle body side through the communication groove when in the open state. Even when loading and unloading cargo during rainy weather, raindrops will no longer fall from both sides of the rear door and accidentally wet and damage the cargo being loaded and unloaded, making it possible to load and unload cargo in the rain. At the same time, work efficiency can be improved. Moreover, since the circumferential groove provided in the rear door of the present invention is formed by recessing the peripheral portion toward the inside of the door, it functions as a reinforcing portion and can provide a rear door with high locking performance.
