【発明の詳細な説明】

本発明は,レーザプリンタや複写機等の電子写真方式に
よる画像形成装置において,感光体を着脱するための着
脱装置に関する.
来の 術及び
最近のこの種の画像形成装置では,従来サービスマンが
行なっていた定期的交換部品について,ユーザでも簡単
に交換できるようにすることが望まれている.しかし,
特に感光体ドラムについては,その近辺に作像にかかる
他のユニットが配置されていることから、交換が菫しい
.
従来,感光体ドラムを着脱自在に支持する構造としては
、画像形成装置本体に感光体駆動軸を片持式に支持し,
該感光体駆動軸に感光体ドラムを着脱自在に取り付ける
とともに,感光体ドラムの他端を,W像形成装置本体の
機枠にネジ止めされる止め板で該機枠に保持するものが
あった.しかし,これでは片持式で不安定であり,また
感光体駆動軸を回転するための駆動部及びその支持部が
大型になるとか、感光体ドラムの着脱に手間がかかる等
の欠点があった.
そこで、この欠点を解決するものとして特開昭55−1
05275号公報に記載されているように,感光体ドラ
ムをそれに対し抜き差し自在なドラム軸によって画像形
成装隨の機粋に支持し、また該機枠に半円筒形状のドラ
ム受け部材を引き出し可能に装着し,ドラム軸を感光体
ドラムから抜き出して感光体ドラムをドラム受け部材上
に落下させ,その後該ドラム受け部材を機枠から引き出
して感光体ドラムを取り出すものが提案されている.
ところが,これによると,感光体ドラムの画像を形成す
る表面がドラム受け部材に衝突するため,その表面に傷
や打痕等が発生し、画像品質上において重大な支障が生
ずる.また,感光体ドラムの下部は通常の画像形成装置
では転写部及び用紙通路となっており,上記のようなド
ラム受け部材を配置できない等の問題がある.
本発明は,感光体を簡単にしかもその表面を保護して着
脱できるようにすることを目的とする.課 を 決する
ための
本発明は,感光体の一端の鞍部を作像ドロワに設けられ
た軸受に着脱自在に軸受けし,感光体の他端を,画像形
成装置本体内の感光体駆動部に着脱自在に連結して支持
する感光体着脱装置において.前記感光体の他端に該感
光体の外径よりも小さいフランジを設け,また前記作像
ドロワに、前記感光体駆動部から外された感光体の前記
フランジを受けるフランジ受け部を設けたことを特徴と
する.

感光体を画像形成装置の感光体駆動部から外すと,感光
体のフランジが作像ドロワに設けられたフランジ受け部
に支持される8この後、作像ドロワを引き出し,感光体
の軸部を作像ドロワに設けられた軸受から外すと、感光
体を取り出すことができる.

第6図は,本発明による感光体着説装置を備えるレーザ
プリンタの一例の概要構成図である.プリンタ本体10
内において、感光体ドラム11の回りに帯電チャージャ
12、光学ユニット13.現像ユニット14、転写チャ
ージャ15,クリーニングユニット16が配置され、感
光体ドラム11は帯電・露光・現像・転写・清掃の、サ
イクルを繰り返す.一方,給紙トレイ17からレジスト
ロ−ラ18を介して感光体ドラム11へ給送される用紙
19は,該感光体ドラム11と転写チャージャ15との
間で感光体ドラム11上のトナー像を転写された後,搬
送ベルト20によって定着ユニット21へ搬送されてト
ナー像を定着されてから,徘紙装置22によって排出さ
れる.
第7図に示すように,感光体.ドラム11、現像ユニッ
ト14,転写チャージャ15及びクリーニングユニット
l6は作像ドロワ23に着脱自在に装填される.作像ド
ロワ23は,プリンタ本体10に対しアキュライド24
によって引き出すことができるように装着されている.
第1図は,本発明による感光体着脱装置の横断面図であ
る.感光体ドラム11はその閉じた一端に軸部25を一
体に突設し、また他端開口部に蓋板26を嵌着している
.この蓋板26には,ボス27,及び該ボス27より大
きく感光体ドラム1lの外径よりも小さい円錐台形のフ
ランジ28が一体に設けられている.該フランジ28の
内周面にはテーパを有するセレーション29が刻設され
,また外周面には段部28aが形成されている.一方,
作像ドロワ23には,円筒形の軸受30がビボット31
によって揺動自在に装着されている.感光体ドラム11
の軸部25は,該軸受30にプッシュ32を介して着脱
自在にかつ回転自在に軸受けされる.軸受30内にはス
プリング33によって外方へ付勢された押圧子34が装
着されており.この軸受30に軸部25を軸受けした感
光体〆ラム11は軸部25とは反対の蓋板26側へ付勢
される.また作像ドロワ23には、軸受30とは反対側
に,感光体ドラム11のフランジ28を受けるU字状の
フランジ受け部35が設けられている,
プリンタ本体10には感光体ドラム11を回転させる駆
動軸36が備えられ,該駆動軸36にはテーバ付きセレ
ーシ1ン37を外周面に有する駆動ギア38が固着され
ている.
第1図に示すように感光体ドラム1lは,その軸部25
を軸受30に嵌合軸受けし,ボス27に駆動軸36を挿
通し,フランジ28のセレーション29と駆動ギア38
のセレーション37とを噛み合わせることによって支持
される.このとき,フランジ28の外周面はフランジ受
け部35の内周面に接触することなく,それより僅かに
(2mm程度)浮いた状態になる.そして、感光体ドラ
ム11は,駆動軸36の回転を伝達される.作像ドロワ
23をプリンタ本体10から引き出し,該作像ドロワ2
3と一体に感光体ドラム11を第2図及び第3図矢印方
向に移動させると,駆動軸36がボス27から抜出する
とともに駆動ギア3Bとフランジ28との噛み合いが外
れ.このフランジ28がフランジ受け部35上に落下し
て該フランジ受け部35に第2図の如く支持される.そ
の際の落差は上記のように僅かであるため、衝撃はごく
少ない.感光体ドラム11はスプリング33によって付
勢されているため,フランジ28の段部28aがフラン
ジ受け部35の周縁部に圧接される.そして,感光体ド
ラム11はこのように作像ドロワ23に安定した状態で
保持されたまま,作像ドロワ23と一体に引き出される
.この後,第4図に示すように、フランジ28に指を掛
け,感光体ドラム11をスプリング33に抗して押しな
がら、第5図に示すように軸受30を回動してフランジ
28側を持ち上げ,フランジ受け部35から外すととも
に,軸部32を軸受30から抜呂すれば、感光体ドラム
11をプリンタ本体10外で作像ドロワ23から容易に
取り外すことができる.

本発明によれば,次のような効果がある.■ 感光体の
軸部を作像ドロワに設けられた軸受に支持するとともに
,感光体のフランジを作像ドロワに設けられたフランジ
受け部に乗せて作像ドロワを引き出せるため,感光体の
表面を保護できる.
■ 感光体を作像ドロワとともに引き出せるため、感光
