A reflector 1 formed as a surface reflecting mirror, a light source 2 such as an incandescent light bulb mounted inside the reflector 1, supported by a plurality of legs S on the reflector opening 10 side, and projecting reflected light from the reflector forward. A convex lens 3 is provided to reflect a portion of the reflected light from the reflector 1 near the focal point of the convex lens 3.
There is a structure in which a shutter 4 formed in a circular shape is movably disposed via an appropriate driving means.

At present, switching on/off or temporarily turning off the light is accomplished by switching the light source itself on/off.

However, the use of discharge lamps has been discouraged because they have a longer lighting time than incandescent lamps, and it is difficult to turn them on/off instantaneously.

問題点があった。Furthermore, some conventional vehicle headlights have a discharge lamp as a light source and are preheated by a heater provided near the discharge lamp in order to shorten the lighting time. However, even in this case, it is difficult to switch the lights on and off instantaneously for bashing irradiation, so a separate incandescent light bulb must be provided for bashing irradiation, and the light will not flash! Without it, bashing irradiation is not possible, and even if only the incandescent lightning ball for bashing irradiation blinks when the discharge lamp is emitting light, the pA recognition from a distance is lower because the discharge lamp has a higher luminous intensity. Although the number of parts increases, the corresponding effect cannot be obtained, and if the light source is a discharge lamp, reliable bashing irradiation etc. cannot be achieved.

The traveling beam and the misaligned beam are switched depending on the setting position of the light shielding means relative to the opening, and by providing the light shielding means at a light shielding position that closes this opening, the passage of reflected light from the reflector is cut off. Bashing irradiation is realized by repeatedly providing an opening in a closed state and an open state, and the light distribution pattern can be switched or temporarily by mechanical operation of the light shielding means without turning on or off the light source itself. Alternatively, the light can be switched on and off instantaneously.

The light source shown in is a discharge lamp, and the reflector 1 to which this discharge lamp 2 is attached is subjected to a reflective mirror treatment consisting of a reflective cut on a half part of its inner periphery to produce a light distribution pattern of two different beams. In addition, a light shielding means is provided at the lower end 10a of the opening of the reflector 1. For example, the light shielding means may include a shield 11 formed to cover the frontage of the reflector and block the reflected light. A vine 4 is provided, and the shutter 4 is rotatably supported via a shaft 12 connected to a suitable drive mechanism (not shown) such as a rack and binion, and the light is blocked by the side of the drive machine.
It can be set to both the traveling beam position and the passing beam position.

(B) shows the traveling beam position, the aperture 10 is set to be fully open and all reflected light passes through the convex lens 3, and (C) shows the position of the traveling beam. Indicate the beam position, move the free end of the shutter 4 using the shaft 1-12 as a fulcrum, and set the aperture 10 in a half-open state so that only the light reflected from the upper tenth part of the reflector 1 is reflected.
It is set so that it passes toward the convex lens 3.

。Therefore, the light distribution pattern for the traveling beam and the light distribution pattern for the passing beam can be switched by the reflector opening 10.
This can be done simply by changing the setting position of the light shielding means,
Moreover, by repeatedly configuring the spacer section 10 between a completely idle state and an open state using this light shielding means, a bashing effect is realized, and it is possible to temporarily or instantaneously turn off and turn on the light.

A is provided with a lower shutter 4a formed to cover the lower half of this opening, and an upper shutter 4b formed to cover the upper half of the frontage 10 is provided at the upper end of the opening 10b, respectively. The lower shutter 4a and the free end of the two-part shutter 4b overlap near the opening radial position of the reflector 1.

The free end of the lower shutter 4a is also moved about its shaft 12 as a fulcrum, and the frontage 10 is set in a fully open state to allow all reflected light to pass through the convex lens 3. It is provided so that it can be set at each of the traveling beam positions (C). Further, as in the first embodiment described above, the bashing effect can be realized by repeatedly configuring the opening 10 to be in the fully closed state and the open state by the respective shutters 4a and 4b.

As a result, switching between the running beam and the passing beam can be done by changing the setting position of the light shielding means relative to the reflector opening, and by fully opening the reflector opening with the light shielding means, the light reflected from the reflector can be blocked. Because the passage is cut off, the discharge lamp remains lit without being turned on or off, and the mechanical operation of the shutter causes the lamp to temporarily turn on and off, causing the shutter to fully close and open the opening repeatedly. In addition to making it possible to realize a bashing effect, when the light is turned off when the vehicle stops for several tens of seconds at a stop signal, etc., it is only necessary to set the reflector opening to the full state with a shutter. It has excellent effects such as turning off the lamp and turning it on at the time of departure smoothly, and the lamp can be turned on and off instantly without being tied to the time it takes to turn on the discharge lamp. .
