[Industrial Application Field] The present invention is directed to sand used in foundry sand molding.
Among resin binder-peroxide mixtures, the present invention relates to a peroxide composition that is safe and has high resin curing efficiency. [Prior art] Furan resin, urine/formaldehyde resin,
Also, at least one resin binder consisting of a phenol/formaldehyde resin causes a rapid, acid-catalyzed hardening reaction in foundry sand molding. In this case, the curing reaction can be carried out by directly using an acid catalyst such as sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid, or by using a sand-resin binder-peroxide mixture in a molding machine as described in Japanese Patent Publication No. 19157-1983. After putting SO 2 gas or SOCl 2
There is a two-step method in which a gas or the like is blown in to generate an acid catalyst, followed by curing. The present invention relates to the latter two-step curing method. The two-step method shows that the pot life of the foundry sand mixture is generally longer after storage and, if necessary, gas treatment.
It has the advantage that a high-strength casting mold can be obtained in a very short time. In general, peroxides with strong oxidizing power such as hydrogen peroxide, ketone peroxide, and hydroperoxide can be used as peroxides for this purpose. Practically speaking, ketone peroxide and hydroperoxide are optimal because the time required is very short. [Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, even if these ketone peroxides or hydroperoxides with strong oxidizing power are used, if a mold with high strength is to be obtained in a sufficiently short time for practical use, It is necessary to use 30 to 100% by weight of expensive peroxide based on the resin binder, which has been a major drawback. [Means for Solving the Problems] As a result of intensive studies on the relationship between ketone peroxide compositions and mold strength, the present inventors discovered that the diluent contained in peroxide has a significant effect on mold strength. The present invention was thus achieved. Currently, the most common ketone peroxide is methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, and dimethyl phthalate is used as a diluent. According to the present invention, in place of dimethyl phthalate in these methyl ethyl ketone peroxides, at least one compound represented by the general formulas [I] to [] or a mixture thereof is used as a diluent, preferably a peroxide. By using at least 10% by weight of the total amount of diluent in the sand, the curing efficiency of the foundry sand mixture is dramatically improved. (In the formula, n is an integer of 1 to 300. Y is an alkylene group, alkenylene group, alkynylene group, phenylene group, or aralkylene group having 2 to 20 carbon atoms. R 2 and R 3 may be the same or different. , an alkyl group or alkenyl group whose total number of carbon atoms is 1 to 20,
It is an alkynyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group. R 3 further includes a hydrogen atom and an acyl group. ) Specific examples include ethylene glycol monoacetate, ethylene glycol monopropinate, ethylene glycol monooctoate, ethylene glycol monobenzoate, diethylene glycol monoacetate, diethylene glycol monooctoate, triethylene glycol monoacetate, propylene glycol monoacetate, dipropylene. Glycol monoacetate, polyethylene glycol monoacetate. Ethylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate, ethylene glycol monoethyl ether acetate, ethylene glycol monobutyl ether acetate, diethylene glycol monoethyl ether acetate, diethylene glycol monomethyl ether propionate, triethylene glycol monoethyl ether acetate, propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate,
Dipropylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate, dipropylene glycol monomethyl ether adipate. Ethylene glycol diacetate, ethylene glycol diacrylate, ethylene glycol dipropionate, ethylene glycol diadipate, diethylene glycol diacetate, diethylene glycol acetate adipate, triethylene glycol diacetate, propylene glycol diadipate, 1,6-hexanediol diacetate, 1 , 6-hexanediol diacrylate, 1,6-hexanediol dimethacrylate, polyethylene glycol diacetate, polyethylene glycol diacrylate, polypropylene glycol diacetate, bisphenol A-diacetate, bisphenol A-dipropionate. (In the formula, R 4 , R 5 , R 6 are a hydrogen atom, or an alkyl group or alkenyl group having a total number of carbon atoms of 1 to 60,
It is an alkynyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group. However, at least one of R 4 , R 5 , and R 6 is not a hydrogen atom. ) Specific examples include glycerin triacetate (triacetin),
Glycerin tributyrate (tributyrin), glycerin tripropionate (tripropionine), glycerin triacrylate, glycerin triheptanoate, glycerin trilaurate, glycerin tristearate, glycerin triolate, glycerin tribenzoate, glycerin monobutyrate, glycerin Dibutyrate, glycerin monostearate. Moreover, it has surprisingly been found that the pot life of foundry sand mixtures using peroxide compositions according to the invention is significantly longer than when conventional peroxides are used. The ketone peroxide included in the present invention can be used as raw material ketones such as acetone, alkane ketones such as methyl ethyl ketone, cyclic alkane ketones such as cyclopentanone and cyclohexanone, diketones such as acetylacetone, and ketones such as diacetone alcohol. Manufactured from alcohols, keto acid esters such as methyl acetoacetate, methyl levulinate, and mixtures thereof. [Example] Next, the present invention will be explained with reference to Examples and Comparative Examples using methyl ethyl ketone peroxide composition, which is the most common ketone peroxide.
The present invention is not limited in any way by the examples. In the following examples, unless otherwise specified, molding of the foundry sand mixture and measurement of resistance force were carried out as follows. Furan-urea-formaldehyde resin 1% by weight
and siliceous sand mixture with the addition of 0.3% by weight of peroxide,
Place it in a cylindrical mold with a diameter of 24 mm x 25 mm and fill it with SO 2 gas.
Blow into the mold for 5 seconds at an injection pressure of 0.4Kg/cm 2 . After 2 minutes of standing, the cast molded product was removed from the mold, and Toyo Sokki
Coercive pressure was measured using a universal tensile tester MODEL UTM-1 manufactured by Co., Ltd. Examples 1 to 5 The coercive pressure of castings formed using methyl ethyl ketone peroxide with a purity of about 55% containing various diluents as the peroxide was measured.

The reason for this is not clear, but it is believed that the diluent of the present invention has a well-balanced compatibility with both the highly hydrophilic ketone peroxide and the highly hydrophobic resin binder. It will be done. Example 6 The resistance pressure of molding sand moldings was measured when the amount of dibutyl phthalate-diluted methyl ethyl ketone peroxide added to molding sand was varied.

It can be seen that the counter pressure is much higher than that in the conventional case of using dimethyl phthalate diluted methyl ethyl ketone peroxide. In other words, in order to obtain the same strength as the conventional dimethyl phthalate diluted methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, if the dibutyl phthalate diluted product of the present invention is used, the amount added can be reduced to 50% or less. It is. Examples 7 to 11 Dimethyl phthalate, a conventional diluent for methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, was added at 5%, 10%, and 30%.
