In electromagnetic coils used in discharge lamp ballasts, small transformers, etc., an intermediate tap is sometimes provided in the middle of the coil. A technique for obtaining a lead wire with an intermediate tap without stopping the winding machine midway is known from Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 73268/1983. In this technology, when the wire is wound up to the turn from which the lead is drawn out, the wire is sent in the opposite direction to the direction in which the wire is fed during coil forming, and after winding the wire for the required number of turns, it is returned to its original position. After continuing to wind the wire to form a coil, the excess winding is compressed in the feeding direction of the wire during coil forming, and the slack obtained is used to cut the wire. The strands of the wire are pulled out to form a lead.

However, in such conventional technology, in order to form an extra winding part during the coiling operation, the winding pitch is changed significantly and the wire is wound in the opposite direction.
Since it is necessary to return the wire to its original position and continue winding by changing the winding pitch to a smaller value, a winding machine with a special structure that can perform such winding processing continuously must be used. In addition, manufacturing is troublesome because winding and tightening processing is required to pull out the excess winding portion and use it as a lead. Furthermore, since the lead is drawn out from the axially intermediate portion of the coil, the lead and the coil cross for a long time, and it is necessary to strengthen the insulation at this crossing portion. Therefore, for these various reasons, the coil cannot be obtained at low cost. Moreover, in the conventional technology, as described above, the leads are drawn out from the axial middle part of the coil, so it is possible to draw out the leads only at the outermost periphery of the coil, and winding cannot be done on top of that. Therefore, it is not suitable for downsizing the coil.

The present invention is applied to an electromagnetic coil coiled onto a bobbin or a winding frame of a winding machine without a collar. The winding of the electromagnetic coil of the present invention is arranged so that the intermediate tap is drawn out at the end of the coil. After the coiling is completed, one or more predetermined turns of the end of the coil are pulled out from the middle of the coil to form an intermediate tapped lead wire.

According to the electromagnetic coil having the above configuration, it is possible to operate the winding machine continuously without having to temporarily stop the winding machine during coiling, and there is no need to change the winding pitch during coiling. It can be manufactured using a general winding machine. After coiling, the tap pull-out point is located on the end face of the coil, so after removing the coil from the winding machine, you can pull out one or several turns at the above-mentioned position on the end face of the coil. It can be used as Therefore, the intermediate tap lead wire can be drawn out even if the winding wire is further wound over the winding wire that becomes the intermediate tap lead wire, so the position of the lead wire is limited to the outermost circumference of the coil. Therefore, the coil can be made smaller. Furthermore, since the intermediate tap is drawn out from the end face of the coil, the cross section between the tap lead wire and the coil is minimized, so there is no need to strengthen the insulation at the cross section, and it is not necessary to tighten the coil to obtain the intermediate tap lead wire. It is easy to manufacture because it does not require

An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3. In the electromagnetic coil 1 shown in FIG. 1, a winding 2 is wound around a cylindrical bobbin 3 having no collar. This winding 2
The number of turns, winding length, number of layers, etc. are designed in advance so that the position at which the intermediate tap is pulled out is located at the axial end 1a of the coil. When the winding 2 is coiled onto the bobbin 3 using a winding machine, the coiling is performed continuously from the start of winding to the end of winding without stopping the winding machine at the tap drawing point. In this manner, when the coiling is completed, the portion 5 of the intermediate tap to be drawn out is located at the end 1a of the coil.

After the coiling is finished and the coil is taken out from the winding machine, one or several turns are loosened and pulled out from the middle of the coil from the drawing area 5, stretched out as shown in Figure 2, and pulled out at the intermediate tap. Used as line 6. Note that the winding start end 8 and winding end end 9 are pulled out as in the conventional case. Further, the outside of the coil is covered with insulating paper 10.

As described above, when the electromagnetic coil 1 is coiled by a winding machine, there is no need to perform a tap pulling operation, and there is no need to temporarily stop the winding machine. Therefore, the operating rate of the winding machine is greatly improved. Moreover,
Even if thick windings are used, such as in HID ballasts,
Tap-drawing operations can be performed easily.

Another embodiment of the present invention is shown in FIGS. 4 and 5. In this example, a marking member 12 such as tape or a piece of paper is inserted at the expected withdrawal portion 5 of the intermediate tap so that the position of the expected withdrawal portion 5 can be easily determined. This mark member 12 is inserted in the middle of coiling. By doing this, it is possible to easily determine which layer of winding wire should be pulled out. However, instead of the marking member 12, paint or the like may be used to mark a predetermined position.

Note that the present invention can of course be applied to cases in which coiling is performed directly on the winding frame of a winding machine without using a bobbin. Further, after the intermediate tap lead wire 6 is drawn out, a collar-shaped insulating member may be attached to the end face of the bobbin.
