Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a printing wire from being broken by being caught by a ribbon and reduce wear of the tip of the wire by a construction wherein a printing wire of a printing head is caused to strike a rubber film, and a hygroscopic metallic printing pin containing an ink therein prints on a printing paper. CONSTITUTION:A porous, hygroscopic metallic printing 19 is provided with protruding parts 19a, 19b. Rubbers 20a, 20b are provided on the printing direction side of the parts 19a, 19b, and a rubber film 21 is provided on the opposite side. A plurality of the printing pins 19, each of which is provided with the rubbers 20a, 20b and the rubber film 21, are fitted into a plurality of guide holes provided in a frame 22 mounted on a printing head, correspondingly to and on the forward side of the printing wires 2 with respect to the printing direction of the wires. The frame 22 is provided also with an ink-supplying pipe 23 and an ink tank 24 for supplying the printing pins 19 with an ink at any desired time. In this construction, when the printing wire 2 supported by a guide member 15 is caused to strike the rubber film 21, the porous printing pin 19 containing the ink is caused to strike a printing paper 17 and a platen 18, thereby printing.

In such a structure, when the magnetic coil 5 is selectively energized, the magnetic coil 5 emits magnetism, and at this time, the armature 7 rotates around the end 7a pressed by the support rubber 8, and at the same time the armature 7 The tip of the printing wire 2 attached to the tip of the ink ribbon 16. Printing is performed by pressing the printing paper 17 and platen 18. After printing, when the magnetic coil 5 is de-energized, the armature 7 is returned to the initial position together with the printing wire 2 by the spring 6. Here, the initial position refers to a position where the rotating end of the armature 7 is pressed against the stopper plate 10.

As explained above, in the present invention, the printing wire of the print head presses against the rubber film, and the printing pin made of an ink-containing hygroscopic metal prints on the printing paper. Breakage accidents are eliminated, wear of the tip of the printing wire in the printing direction is reduced, and a printing head with extremely high reliability can be provided. Furthermore, ink is constantly supplied from the ink tank to the hygroscopic metal printing pins, so that printing with a constant density is always achieved and high quality printing is maintained.
