Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily input accurate map data by overlapping and displaying a radar video with a map in forming a map. CONSTITUTION:When coordinates of a map are to be input from a digitizer 1, the coordinates are not picked up from the map, but picked up from a radar video along with runways and guide roads displayed by a display device. In other words, both the radar video 5 and the map display formed by a map forming device 2 are input while the display by a radar video and map synthesizing device 6 is being confirmed. The map obtained in this manner is never shifted from the actual radar video, and therefore making it possible to easily input a highly accurate map. Two or more map forming devices 2 and radar devices 5 may be used. In such case, a map can be formed while the two kinds of videos are simultaneously viewed. In place of the radar video 5, a video image of a TV camera may be possible, which is applicable to a general TV display.
