Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent foaming before filling and consequently surely obtain a molded item excellent in quality by a method wherein a hollow skin material, on which a pouring part consisting of a runner and a plurality of gates is provided, is set in a mold so as to pour foamable molding material under high pressure. CONSTITUTION:Polyurethane under high pressure is poured through the inlet 9, a runner and respective gates 5 of the pouring part 10 of a hollow skin material 3 in the hollow part of the hollow skin material 3, which is set in a mold 13. Through the expansion of the polyurethane, a thin lower panel 1 consisting of foam 2, on the outer surface of which the hollow skin in material 3 is provided integrally, is produced. After that, the respective gates 5 of the pouring part 10 and reinforcing welds are cut off so as to remove the pouring portion of molding material from the lower panel 1. By simultaneously and rapidly pouring the polyurethane through the respective gates 5 of the pouring part 10 in the hollow part of the hollow skin material 3, the foaming under insufficient filling state is prevented from occurring, resulting in surely obtaining a thin lower panel 1 excellent in quality. Further, by forming projections 8 and 8 at the inlet 9 of the pouring part 10 of the hollow skin material 3, no shifting of the inlet 9 from the mold 13 occurs, resulting in surely preventing the polyurethane from leaking.

As disclosed in Japanese Patent Application No. 130808, etc., after a hollow skin material is set in a mold, a foamable molding material is injected into the hollow part of the hollow skin material from the opening and foamed. A method of forming a foam molded product by integrally bonding a hollow skin material to the outer surface is generally well known.

(Problem to be solved by the invention) However, when the foamed molded product to be obtained is a thin product, since the hollow skin material naturally has a flat shape, it is necessary to inject the foamable molding material into the product. The opening of the hollow skin material inevitably becomes narrow, and the amount of foamable molding material injected per hour decreases, and it takes a long time to fill the hollow part of the hollow skin material with the foamable molding material. For this reason, the foamable molding material begins to foam before it is completely filled into the hollow part of the hollow skin material, resulting in the problem that it is difficult to obtain a thin, integrally foamed molded product of excellent quality. .

(Means for Solving the Problem) In order to achieve the above object, the solution of the present invention provides a method for manufacturing a thin foam molded product by integrally bonding a hollow skin material to the outer surface of a foam. First, a flat hollow skin material is prepared, which is provided with an injection port consisting of an injection port for injecting a foamable molding material, a runner, and a plurality of gates. Next, the hollow skin material is set in a mold, and a foamable molding material is injected into the hollow part of the hollow skin material from the injection part at high pressure and foamed, thereby integrating the hollow skin material on the outer surface of the foam. A thin foam molded product is formed by bonding materials together. Thereafter, the molding material injected portion is removed from the foamed molded product by cutting each gate of the injection portion.

A flat hollow skin material 3 as shown in the figure is prepared. The hollow skin material 3 has a hollow part 4 formed therein by blow molding a synthetic resin such as polypropylene, polyethylene, nylon, etc., and the hollow part 4 is formed inside the hollow part 4 on the negative side thereof.
As shown in enlarged detail in the figure, a plurality (five) narrow vertical width gates 5.5... are connected to reinforcing welded parts 6, 6. ... and are formed at predetermined intervals in the longitudinal direction. Each gate 5 is connected to a runner 7 extending in the longitudinal direction and having a semicircular longitudinal section, as shown in enlarged detail in FIGS. 3 and 4. ,
As shown in enlarged detail in FIG. 5, a cylindrical injection port 9 having a plurality of (two) ring-shaped protrusions 8.8 on its outer periphery is connected. The gates 5, runners 7, and injection ports 9 constitute an injection section 10 for injecting, for example, polyurethane as a foamable molding material.

In this way, in this example, polyurethane is applied to the mold 13.
The polyurethane is injected into the hollow part 4 of the hollow skin material 3 set at a high pressure through the injection port 9 of the injection part 10 of the hollow skin material 3, the runner 7, and each gate 5, and the polyurethane is foamed. After molding a thin lower panel 1 made by integrally bonding the hollow skin material 3 to the outer surface, the molding material is removed from the lower panel 1 by cutting each gate 5 and reinforcing welded part 6 of the injection part 10. Remove the injection part.
