Conventionally, in press molding of glass products, it is common to first supply a molten glass gob to the bottom of a body mold, and then press mold in the next step.

On the other hand, due to the recent diversification of glass product shapes, in order to obtain products without so-called exit angles on one side,
A method of press molding with an inclined bottom surface of the body mold is increasingly being used.

However, in the conventional molten glass press molding machine shown in Fig. 2, the bottom surface of the body mold is not only horizontal, but also has an inclined surface depending on the shape of the glass product. The disadvantage is that the supplied glass gob flows along the slope due to its own weight, and the molten glass gob ends up staying at the bottom of the slope. This not only makes it difficult to press-mold the molten glass gob correctly, but also causes the finished glass product to have uneven wall thickness due to the glass being shifted to one side, resulting in so-called insufficient thickness and minute cracks. This causes structural and aesthetic problems to the product.

The present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems, and when press-molding a molten glass gob by supplying it to the inclined bottom of the body, the molten glass gob supplied onto the bottom of the body is vacuum-adsorbed. Provided is a press molding device that performs a pressing process after holding the glass gob at a predetermined position on the bottom surface of the body mold, thereby preventing downward movement of the glass gob due to the inclination of the bottom surface of the body mold and movement of the glass gob due to other external force. The glass gob is held in a desired position suitable for press molding, and glass defects such as insufficient thickness and minute cracks are prevented from occurring.

In the present invention, an air vent hole or groove is provided at a predetermined position on the bottom surface of the body, through which air is removed, and the air is adsorbed to the surface of the body and the bottom of the glass gob, thereby preventing movement of the glass gob.

This allows the glass gob to be held at a preferable position on the bottom surface of the body mold, and press molding can be easily performed.

FIG. 1 is a sectional view of a press molding machine showing the basic configuration of an embodiment of the present invention, in which 1 is an arrow shape, 2 is a ring mold, 3 is a body mold, 4 is an air vent hole, and 5 is a molten glass gob. show. The bottom surface of the body mold 3 is inclined in one direction, and the air vent hole 4 is provided on this bottom surface. In this case, the air vent hole 4 is the molten glass gob 5.
Usually, it is sufficient to provide it in the region where is supplied, that is, in the center of the bottom surface. Further, the size of the air vent hole 4 is not particularly limited, but if the hole diameter becomes large,
Normally, it is desirable that the thickness be 0.5 mm or less, as this will cause noticeable hole marks on the product.

As shown in FIG. 1, while supplying the molten glass gob into the body mold, from the air vent hole 4,
Air is suctioned using a vacuum pump or other means (not shown) to maintain the air vent hole 4 on the bottom of the body mold in a negative pressure state. Then, the molten glass gob supplied to the bottom surface of the body mold is attracted to the air vent hole 4 by the negative pressure of the air vent hole 4, and the molten glass gob does not flow out along the slope.

Therefore, even if the bottom surface of the body mold is inclined, the supplied glass gob does not flow downward along the slope, and a glass product having a uniform thickness can be easily formed.

In this embodiment, the air vent hole 4 was provided in order to adsorb and hold the molten glass gob supplied onto the bottom surface of the body mold, but this is not limited to the air vent hole. It may be a groove or other means to apply a negative pressure therebetween to prevent the molten glass gob from flowing downward.

In addition, it is useful not only for ordinary molten glass gobs but also for sheet-like glass gobs obtained by forming gobs into flat or plate shapes in advance, and includes these as well.

According to the present invention, with an extremely simple configuration,
Even when molding is done with the bottom of the mold tilted, the molten glass gob is held in the desired position suitable for molding.
Since it can be press-molded, it has an extremely excellent effect in preventing defects such as insufficient thickness and minute cracks that tend to occur when the glass gob is improperly heated during molding.
