Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain artificial leather just like natural leather which has touch of natural leather and moisture release and absorption by coating the base fabric such as nonwoven fabric with a mixture of a powder of natural leather which has been crushed in a specific method in a synthetic resin so that the powder is uniformly dispersed. CONSTITUTION:Strips of natural leather is moistened, heated in a tightly closed vessel under pressure for a prescribed time, then the vessel is instantly opened to release the pressure whereby collagen fibers are effectively loosened and crushed in a short time. The crushed product is dried and further crushed, then mixed with a synthetic resin. A base cloth such as woven or nonwoven fabric is coated with mixture or a film is formed from the mixture and adhered to the base cloth to give artificial leather with touch just like natural leather.

(Prior art) In the past, leather pieces were soaked in water for a long time to swell and then beater.
The natural leather powder is made by dismantling it into fibers, drying and pulverizing it, or by steaming it with heated steam, drying it thoroughly and pulverizing it, then mixing it with synthetic resin and coating it on a base fabric or making it into a film and bonding it to create an artificial leather. It manufactured leather.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) For example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 58-30920 discloses a technique for manufacturing artificial leather by adhering natural leather powder onto a base fabric. However, when natural leather powder, which is the main raw material, is manufactured using a beating method using a beater, the Kolaken fibers contained in the raw leather are tough, so the particle size distribution becomes uneven when pulverized, and the fibers As long particles of leather powder are formed, particles of leather powder become entangled with each other, making it difficult to mix uniformly with synthetic resin. As a result, it is difficult to give manufactured artificial leather the properties unique to natural leather, and furthermore, it becomes difficult to mold. It was supposed to deteriorate the properties of the resin. As a way to compensate for this drawback, from the viewpoint that it is better to make the natural leather powder obtained by fine pulverization into granules rather than fibers, after steaming the raw material natural leather thin pieces with heated steam, the raw material is forcibly contained. A method was considered in which the material was dried until the moisture content was 4% or less and then pulverized.

(Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 63-156552) However, according to this method, the raw material leather is heated with hot water for a long time in a moist cedar state, so the collagen fibers undergo strong thermal changes and turn into inferior gelatin. The dried product is relatively fragile to fracture and has low viscoelasticity.

However, when this was pulverized, although the initial pulverization was easy, it became very difficult to pulverize it below a certain particle size, and if you tried to obtain a fine powder with an average particle size of around 20 μm,
A method must be used to classify the pulverized product and collect only the fine powder. In other words, in order to produce high-quality artificial leather that has the feel of natural leather, it is necessary to uniformly mix natural leather powder with synthetic resin and to increase the content of natural leather powder. The natural leather powder produced by this process has a rough average particle size of about 50μ, making it extremely difficult to mix it uniformly with the resin. Also, when the artificial leather product is microscopically observed under a microscope, the gaps between the natural leather powders are uneven. However, the amount of synthetic resin that fills the gaps increases, resulting in a loss of texture. The purpose of the present invention is to effectively disentangle the collagen fibers of natural leather to facilitate the next step of fine pulverization, thereby obtaining high-quality natural leather powder as a raw material, and using this to improve the texture of natural leather. The manufacturing method is such that a sufficient amount of artificial leather can be supplied in large quantities at low cost.

(Means for Solving the Problems) The characteristic means of the present invention is to put the hydrated natural leather strips in a closed pressure vessel, heat and pressurize them for a certain period of time, and then momentarily open the pressure vessel to reduce the pressure. The purpose of this method is to simultaneously swell and crush leather strips, dry them, and pulverize them to produce artificial leather using fine natural leather powder obtained. The operation is as follows. be.

(Function) First, at the stage of producing natural leather powder, which is the raw material for artificial leather, from natural leather, in order to more effectively disentangle the collagen fibers of natural leather by steaming, which is one of the conventional methods. After conducting various experiments to find out what method is suitable, we found that the method is to contact steam for a certain period of time in a closed pressure container, then immediately release the container,
By rapidly reducing the pressure inside the container to cause the leather pieces to swell and shatter, the collagen fibers are loosened in a shorter time and more effective than the conventional method of simply heating with steam. It was found that it was broken down into pieces. In other words,
When a strip of natural leather moistened with water is placed in a sealed pressure vessel and heated above the vaporization temperature of water, the water inside the strip of leather is heated and some of it becomes steam, but most of the water remains in the container. Since the interior is pressurized, it stays in the raw leather as pressurized hot water, swells the raw leather throughout with steam, and loosens the entanglements of collagen fibers in the leather tissue. Then, if the container, which is in a high temperature and high pressure state, is instantly released and the pressure is suddenly reduced,
The hot water inside the raw leather vaporizes and expands due to the sudden pressure change.
The leather fibers that have been loosened beforehand are crushed by the rapid swelling action, as if they were exploded from within. The crushed natural leather obtained in this way has distortion applied to the inside of its structure, so it can be pulverized very effectively using a crusher in the next step. It can be manufactured efficiently.

Furthermore, by changing the operating conditions, it is possible to adjust the thermal change state of collagen protein in the leather tissue and give subtle physical properties to the product leather powder, making it possible to produce natural leather powder that is even more suitable for various uses. Now I can do it. The thus obtained fine powder of natural leather is mixed with a resin to produce a zero-corrosion artificial leather having a sufficient feel of natural leather.

(Effects of the Invention) As described above, according to the present invention, extremely fine natural leather powder can be easily and energy-efficiently produced compared to conventional products, and by using this, an artificial leather powder that fully has the advantages of natural leather can be produced. It became possible to supply large quantities of leather products. In other words, when artificial leather is made by mixing the natural leather powder produced according to the present invention with a synthetic resin, the natural leather powder is distributed in a uniformly dispersed state without agglomeration, and the amount of natural leather powder is increased in terms of volume. To produce high-quality artificial leather that has the texture of natural leather, excellent moisture absorption and desorption properties, and non-static properties, and also has properties superior to natural leather in terms of water resistance, durability, antibacterial properties, etc. be able to.

Shaving scraps of chromium tanned leather with water added to make the moisture content 49% are placed in a pressure vessel with a heating jacket, and steam with a steam pressure of 2.9 kg/'CTIT is supplied into the vessel and the jacket for 10 minutes to remove the raw material. After heating, the outlet of the pressure vessel was opened all at once, and the crushed raw leather was dried until the moisture content was around 10%, and then crushed with an impact crusher, and the average particle size was 14 μm. We were able to produce a certain natural leather fine powder. This natural leather fine powder is mixed with a polyurethane resin dissolved in methyl ethyl ketone at a weight ratio of 50% for each, a film is made on release paper, and it is adhered to a nonwoven fabric surface coated with adhesive in advance. After being crimped by passing through rolls with adjusted pressure, it was heated and dried at 150'C for 3 minutes, and then passed through rolls again to integrate.
We were able to obtain artificial leather that has the texture of natural leather.
