Abstract

PURPOSE:To cool the inside of a device at a low cost by mounting an in-device cooling fan which is driven by a line feed motor for angularly rotating a platen to conduct a required line feed. CONSTITUTION:A fan 5 is rotatably supported by a shaft 5a disposed in parallel to a platen 1, a gear 2 is held to a shaft 1a of the platen 1, a gear 6 is held to the shaft 5a of the fan 5, and a gear 3 mounted on an output shaft of a line feed motor 4 is engaged with the gears 2 and 6. In order to rotate the platen 1 by a line feed amount required on the platen 1, the line feed motor 4 is driven. Then, this power is transmitted to the gears 2 and 6 through the gear 3, and the in-device cooling fan 5 is driven simultaneously with the angular rotation of the platen 1.
