Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit the sufficient drying of the whole of substance to be dried by a method wherein the title device is provided with a pipe, supporting a rotary drum, into which microwave is supplied, freely pivotally at one end thereof, communicated with the inside of the drum through the other end and a supporting unit and supplying and/or taking out the granular or powder substance into and/or out of the drum. CONSTITUTION:A valve 20 is opened to drop substance 17 to be dried into a drum 7 through a supplying pipe 15 and an opening 8. A motor 12 is operated to pivot the drum 7 and a magnetron 5 is operated to supply microwave into a heating box 1 and the drum 7 further through the opening 8. The substance 17 to be dried is dried efficiently by the microwave while being mixed sufficiently by the drum 7. When drying is finished, the magnetron 5 and the motor 12 are stopped, valves 20, 27 are closed but the valve 28 is opened and a suction blower 26 is operated again. Then, the dried substance 17 to be dried is taken out of the drum 7 by the suction effect of the blower 26 and is reserved into a take-out hopper 23 through a pipe 16.

When drying the material to be dried (17), first close the valves (20), (25), and (28), open only the valve (27), and operate the intake blower (2). Then, due to the suction action of the blower (26), the storage tank (21)
The material to be dried (17) passes through the connecting pipe (22) and reaches the supply hopper (18). When the material to be dried (17) reaches the supply hopper (18), it falls into the hopper due to its own weight and accumulates therein. However, only the air drawn by the blower (26) flows toward the blower (26) through the filter (19) and the ventilation pipe (29). In this way the supply hopper (
When a predetermined amount of the material to be dried (17) has accumulated in the chamber (18), the blower (26) is stopped and the valve (20) is opened to remove the material to be dried (18).
17) is allowed to fall into the drum (7) via the supply pipe (15) and opening (8). Then the motor (I
2) to rotate the drum (7) and the magnetron (5) to supply microwaves to the heating section (1) and into the drum (7) through the opening (8). Thereby, the material to be dried (17) is efficiently dried using microwaves while being sufficiently stirred by the drum (7). Needless to say, at this time, the take-out pipe (16) remains fixed without rotating together with the drum (7). When drying is completed, stop the magnetron (5) and motor (12), close valve +20) (27), and close valve (28).
) and operate the intake blower (26) again. Then, due to the suction action of the blower (26), the drum (
7), the dried material (17) is taken out from the pipe (
16) and reaches the take-out hopper (23). When the dried eJ (171) reaches the take-out hopper (23), it similarly falls and accumulates in the hopper due to its own weight.
The air generated by the intake air in step 6) flows toward the blower (26) through the filter (24) and the ventilation pipe (30). When the material to be dried 07) has accumulated in the take-out hopper (23) in this manner, the blower (26) is stopped and the valve (25) is opened to allow the material to be dried (17) to proceed to the next process.
