Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively use a charge wire having sufficiently a service life at the time of use by moving the charge wire wound and hooked to two pieces of wire connecting members, based on a cleaning signal, and executing cleaning through a cleaning tool by following up the movement. CONSTITUTION:A charge wire 10 is drawn out of an opening part (d) of a cassette case 22 and wound and hooked to a pulley 11 of a base 7, and also, the wire 10 is inserted into a slit of a cleaning tool 21, and wire connecting members 23, 24 are detained and held by rotating bodies 4, 5 and the wire 10 is extended and provided. When the number of image formed pieces which are accumulated reaches a prescribed number, a motor M is brought to reciprocating rotation by a prescribed number, the charge wire 10 is brought to reciprocating movement and cleaned by the cleaning tool 21. When the number of times of cleaning which is accumulated reaches a prescribed number, the motor M rotates in the wire winding direction by a prescribed number, the charge wire 10 wound to the connecting member 23 is transferred out to a use position, and also, the charge wire 10 being in the use position hitherto is wound to the connecting member 24.

[1] The number of cleanings determined based on the life of the charge wire 10 described in I is divided into multiple parts, and the cleaning signal transmitted after reaching the number of divided cleanings is used as the wire exchange signal υ.
Based on this, it is also a good idea to take control of the following two aspects. In other words, if the number of cleanings determined based on the lifespan of the charge wire 10 is, for example, 6 times, this number is divided into, for example, 3 times, and the charge wire 10 is wound up. It is also possible to repeatedly perform the control in the two modes described in 1-2 above.

Further, in the embodiment, a cleaning signal is transmitted based on a predetermined cumulative number of times of image formation, and a wire replacement signal is transmitted based on a predetermined cumulative number of cleaning times. However, this is merely an example, and changes such as, for example, transmitting a cleaning signal and a wire replacement signal based on the cumulative number of rotations of the photosensitive drum are possible.

As explained above, the present invention is characterized in that the charge wire installed in the charger device of the image forming apparatus is repeatedly cleaned until the life of the charge wire is exhausted. Is it competent? By making it possible to use chargers repeatedly, which used to be discarded even though they still had a long lifespan, economical efficiency can be improved several times.
