おいてその開口端部が当該封じ管部の外端側に向
かうよう配置されたガラス製の有底筒体と、この
有底筒体の筒孔内に挿入された外部リード棒と、
前記有底筒体の底壁端面から前記発光空間囲繞部
内に伸びるよう配置された内部リード棒と、この
内部リード棒の先端に設けられた電極と、前記封
じ管部の内部において前記有底筒体の底壁外方に
位置され、前記内部リード棒をその内部に挿通し
た状態で保持するガラス製の内部リード棒保持筒
体と、前記有底筒体の外周においてその筒軸方向
に伸び、その一端側が前記内部リード棒に電気的
に接続され、その他端側が前記外部リード棒に電
気的に接続された帯状の金属箔とを有し、前記発
光空間囲繞部の内径が前記内部リード棒保持筒体
の外径の２倍以上である放電灯において、 前記内部リード棒保持用筒体と発光空間囲繞部
との間に封じ管部に続く直管部を設け、この直管
部の長さをＬ、内径をＤ、管の肉厚をｔとすると
