Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent leakage due to dew concentration staying in a connector recessed part by setting a projection on a connector housing recessed part or one end of a flexible printed board while separating a conductive pattern of the board from the connector bottom. CONSTITUTION:A flexible board 2 is inserted into a housing recessed part 10 of a connector 1 so that conductive pattern 20 may come in contact with terminal pins 12, then a slider 3 is pushed between a stiffening plate 22 of the board 2 and a wall 15 of the connector 1 to join a housing 11 with the board 2. By pushing in of the slider 3, one U-shaped end of the terminal pin 12 is pressed against the conductive pattern 20 to electrically, secure contact. A tip part of the printed board 2 is provided with a projection 4. Consequently, the conductive pattern of the board is separated from the bottom of the connector 1 so that leakage due to wetting of the conductive pattern by dew concentration staying the connector bottom can be prevented.

[Prior Art] As shown in cross-sectional views in FIGS. 9 and 10, a conventional flexible printed circuit board device includes a connector 1a and a flexible printed circuit board 2a held by the connector 1a.
and a slider 3a. The connector 1a consists of a housing 11a having a housing recess 10a with one end open, and a plurality of terminal pins 12a fixed to the housing 11a and each having one end protruding into the housing 110a.The one end of each of these terminal pins 12a is flexible. [V1 Problem to be Solved by the Invention] However, in the above-described conventional flexible printed circuit board device, the tip 23a of the base 21a and the tip 24a of the reinforcing plate 22a, which constitute the tip of the flexible substrate 2a, are
Since the base 21a is in contact with the bottom surface 13a of the housing 11a, moisture condensed on the bottom surface 13a lowers the insulation resistance between the conductive patterns 2Oa of the base 21a, causing current leakage. In other words, as shown in Fig. 11, which is a partial enlarged sectional view of the main part, when the temperature suddenly rises,
Moisture in the air that comes into contact with the surfaces of the low-temperature flexible printed circuit board 2a and the connector 1a condenses and forms dew condensation on these surfaces. The condensed water 9a flows into the minute gap X between the connector 1a and the flexible printed circuit board 2a,
It is concentrated in the corner Y defined by the connector 1a and the flexible printed circuit board 2a. As a result, the tip 123a of the flexible printed circuit board 2a gets wet, the insulation resistance of each conductive pattern 20all arranged on the surface of the flexible printed circuit board 2a decreases, and current leakage occurs.

The base of the flexible printed circuit board is made of polyester film or polyimide film, for example, and the conductive pattern is not limited to a single layer but may be multilayered. A reinforcing plate or the like can be bonded to one end of the flexible printed circuit board to increase the rigidity of the flexible printed circuit board. In a flexible printed circuit board having such a reinforcing plate, a separating protrusion can be provided at one end of the reinforcing plate.

The isolation protrusion only needs to be separated by a predetermined distance from the bottom surface of the connector that defines the conductive pattern or the housing recess, and its shape can be changed in each ladder. The isolation protrusion may be provided on either the surface of the connector on the housing recess side or one end of the flexible printed circuit board, or may be provided on both.

[Function] In the flexible printed circuit board device of the present invention, the isolation protrusion provided at one end of the housing recess of the connector or the flexible printed circuit board isolates each conductive pattern of the flexible printed circuit board from the bottom surface of the connector that partitions the housing recess. This prevents each conductive pattern from becoming wet due to condensed water that accumulates on the bottom surface of the connector, reducing the insulation resistance between the conductive patterns and causing current leakage.
