  1. 【実用新案登録請求の範囲】 (1) 表面にトナー像が現像される像担持体の表
    面側に対向して配置され、トナー像が転写材に転
    写された後に前記像担持体表面に残留した異物を
    除去するクリーニング装置であつて、内部に磁極
    を備えたクリーニングローラを有し、該クリーニ
    ングローラの表面に保持される磁性を有するクリ
    ーニング剤により前記像担持体の表面をクリーニ
    ングするものにおいて、 前記クリーニングローラに対向する位置であつ
    て前記像担持体の裏面側に磁極を設けたことを特
    徴とするクリーニング装置。 (2) 前記像担持体裏面側の磁極は、前記クリー
    ニングローラの中心と該像担持体の中心とを結ぶ
    線より、該像担持体の回転方向の上流側に設けら
    れることを特徴とする請求項１に記載のクリーニ
    ング装置。
