Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a solar cell which can be utilized for a suntracking apparatus or the like by a method wherein two pieces or two sets of solar cells are connected in series, both ends are short-circuited and a load is connected to both ends of the solar cells so that its polarity can be changed according to how the cells are exposed to light. CONSTITUTION:Two pieces or two sets of solar cells 1, 2 of a nearly identical characteristic are connected in series; both ends are short-circuited; they are used by connecting an electrical load 3 to both ends of the solar cells 1, 2. Thereby, when light is incident on only the solar cells 1, an electric current flows from the solar cell 1; since the electric current does not flow from the solar cell 2, the electric current flows to the load 3; at this time, the left side of the load 3 becomes positive and its right side becomes negative. In addition, when the light is incident on only the solar cell 2, the electric current is going to flow from the solar cell 2 and the electric current does not flow from the solar cell 1; accordingly, the electric current flows to the load 3; at this time, the right side of the load 3 becomes positive and its left side becomes negative. When the same light is incident on the solar cells 1, 2, the electric current does not flow to the load 3. Accordingly, when a direct-current motor is connected as the load 3, the solar cells can be utilized for a sun-tracking apparatus.

Detailed Description of the Invention As shown in the figure, two or two sets of solar cells (one

The current that flows through a solar cell is approximately proportional to the amount of incident light, so if light is incident only on (1), (1) will cause current to flow, and (2) will not cause current to flow, so (3) will have a current flow. When the current flows, the left side of (3) becomes + and the right side becomes -.

If light is incident only on (2), current will flow in (2), but since (1) does not, a current will flow in (3>). At that time, the right side of (3) is + and the left side is -. This means that the polarity has changed.

(1) When the same light enters (2>), the current from (1) enters (2), and the current from (2) enters (1), so no current flows to (3). .

The difference in the amount of incident light between (1) and (2) is converted into the direction and magnitude of the current flowing in (3), so (1) and (2)
If you look at it as a single solar cell, it becomes a solar cell whose polarity changes depending on how the light hits it, and it can also obtain electrical energy just like a normal solar cell.

There is a solar tracking device as a usage of the present invention (1
) and (2) are arranged, a screen is placed between them, and this is placed on a rotary table with a DC motor. When this DC motor is connected as the electrical load for (3), the screen stops in the direction of the screen or the sun and tracks the sun. You can create a solar tracking device that does not require external energy to begin with.If it rotates in the opposite direction, simply reverse the connection of the DC motor to start tracking.

In order to create a practical solar tracking device using the present invention, it is necessary to combine not only horizontal but also vertical tracking devices, but this is difficult because external energy other than sunlight is required and hot. It has advantages not found in conventional solar tracking devices, such as low running costs.
