CONSTITUTION:A functional element 3 provided with electrodes 4 on both ends is used. A notch part 5 whose width is smaller than the diameter D of the functional element is arranged at the part corresponding with the electrode part of the functional element of a metal terminal 1. When the electrode 4 of the surface mounting type functional element 3 is accommodated in the terminal 1, the element is firmly placed in the notch part 5, and soldering 7 around the electrode can be easily performed. The element part is subjected to plastic molding.

Conventionally, a functional element for this purpose is a normal functional element with a lead wire, and a functional element 3 with a lead wire s attached to a metal terminal 1 having a claw 8 at a part of the tip, as shown in FIG. (Commercially available functional devices such as resistors, diodes, and capacitors come with lead wires.) Connect the lead wire 9 to the claw 8.
It is connected to the terminal 1 by soldering or caulking, and then the functional element portion is sealed and fixed by plastic molding. The terminal 1 of the functional element 3 thus constructed is connected to an electric wire such as a harness, a connector, or a printed circuit board.

"Means for Solving the Problem" This invention uses a functional element such as a surface-mounted diode or resistor without lead wires (both ends of the functional element are electrodes), and a device corresponding to the electrode of the functional element is used. A feature is that a notch is formed in the electrical terminal part or a recess is formed by step pressing, a functional element is mounted in the notch or recess, and the functional element is mounted by soldering, and then the functional element part is molded in plastic. It is a functional element with a terminal.

以下本発明の具体例を図面を参照して説明する。Hereinafter, specific examples of the present invention will be explained with reference to the drawings.

A specific example of the present invention is shown in FIGS. 2(a) and 2(b) (showing the state before plastic molding, with parts removed). In other words, a functional element 3 with electrodes 4 at both ends.
On the other hand, a notch 5 having a width smaller than the diameter of the functional element is formed in the part of the metal terminal 1 corresponding to the electrode part of the functional element.
It is profitable. When the electrode part 4 of the surface-mounted functional element 3 is placed into this terminal 1 as shown in FIG. 2(a), the element will fit securely into the notch 5, and the soldering 7 around the electrode can be performed without any problem. Can be done. After soldering, the functional elements are molded into plastic to create a finished product.

FIG. 2 shows another embodiment of the present invention. In this specific example, a semi-circular (partially) circular recess 6 is provided on one side of the metal terminal 1 corresponding to the electrode portion of the functional element, into which the functional element is inserted. This terminal is used to form a functional element with a terminal in the same manner as described above. In this way, not only a cylindrical functional element but also a functional element with a rectangular cross section as shown in the drawing can be securely accommodated.

"Effects of the Invention" As explained in detail above, the functional device with terminals of the present invention is obtained by simply cutting out or stepping a part of the terminal to create a concave portion, and then fixing the surface-mounted functional device to the concave portion. It is plastic molded like the conventional one, and leadless functional elements can be easily mounted in a space-efficient manner, making it possible to compactly mount functional parts in the middle of a wire harness, etc., which is effective.
