Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve its restoring performance during low-speed navigation without any use of complex apparatuses or motive power, by attaching a buoy ant body on each board to enlarge its ship width, the board portion during high-speed navigation being exposed above a horizontal face. CONSTITUTION:In a small-water-plane single shell ship 1 used as a displacement type high-speed ship, buoyant body 2 is mounted to each board portion (a) while projecting in symmetry with respect to the center line of its ship body, the board portion (a) during high-speed navigation being exposed above the water surface 4. Changes in the water surface around its ship body are therefore utilized for solving the contradictive problem that when a water plane is big its resistance is increased but restoring ability satisfied, whereas when the water plane is small its resistance is decreased but the restoring performance becomes unstable.

Detailed Description of the Invention (Industrial Application Field) The present invention relates to a small waterline monohull boat (displacement type, high speed boat type).
The present invention relates to 5WASH, which has been improved to ensure recovery performance at low speeds or when stopped (hereinafter referred to as 5WASH).

(Prior Art) In conventional displacement type ships, wave-making resistance increases rapidly as the sailing speed increases. In order to realize a displacement-type high-speed ship, it is necessary to reduce the waterline surface in order to avoid this increase in wave-making resistance. However, if the waterline surface is made smaller, the stability performance deteriorates. For this reason, some kind of countermeasure is needed, and hydrofoils have been considered, but so far nothing has been found that is effective at low speeds or when stopped, when the wings do not work.

(Means for solving problems by the invention) A buoyant body was attached to the side of the ship exposed above the water surface during high-speed sailing to increase the width of the ship, and when the ship was stopped or sailing at low speed, the buoyant body was submerged in water to improve restoring performance.

(Example) S WA S Hl! The shape of the water surface around 11 is horizontal when it is stopped, as shown in Figure 1, but as the speed increases, it changes as shown in Figure 2. That is, the hull section indicated by the symbol a, which is submerged in water when stopped, is exposed above the water surface when traveling at high speed. On the other hand, the part with the sign is exposed when the vehicle is stopped, but becomes flooded when the vehicle is at high speed.

In the plan view of the hull 1 shown in the figure, the buoyancy body 2 is attached to the side of a portion a exposed above the water surface at high speed, projecting symmetrically with respect to the hull center line. The front and rear sections are streamlined to reduce wave-making resistance.

(Function) When stopped and when navigating at low speed: The buoyant body 2 is submerged in water, and the water line surface becomes large as shown by the shaded area in Fig. 5, so that its restorability is ensured. However, although the resistance increases during low-speed navigation, it is not a big problem due to the low speed.

During high-speed navigation; as shown in Figure 3, the water surface around the hull changes and the buoyant body 2 is exposed on the water surface. Therefore, the water line surface becomes small and the wave-making resistance becomes small. In this case, dynamic lateral stability is ensured by hydrofoils (not shown).

(Effect) As the water line increases, the resistance increases, but the restorability is satisfied.
Conversely, as the water line becomes smaller, the resistance decreases but the restorability becomes unstable. These contradictory problems could be solved by making use of changes in the water surface around the hull and by providing buoyancy bodies in the areas exposed at high speeds. With such a simple configuration, it is possible to improve restorability at low speeds and when stopped without using complicated equipment or power.
