Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the protection of a printing layer and to eliminate possibility damaging an object to be printed due to the irradiation with ultraviolet rays by a method wherein a transfer printing label is brought into contact with the object to be printed and subsequently heated and contracted to perform transfer in a close adhesion state and the resin layer of said label is irradiated with ultraviolet rays to be cured before the base film of the label is released from the interface with the resin layer or after said film is released and removed. CONSTITUTION:A transfer printing label 6 is externally applied to an object 8 to be printed and adhered (temporarily adhered) to the surface of the object 8 to be printed. Thereafter, the transfer printing label 6 is heated to temp. imparting no thermal damage to the object 8 to be printed to thermally shrink the base film 1 of the label 6, and the label 6 is irradiated with ultraviolet rays. Ultraviolet rays penetrate the base film 1 to irradiate the resin layer 2 of the label 6 to cure the same. Thereafter, when the base film 1 is released from the interface with the resin layer 2, the tough printing layer 4 whose surface is protected by the cured resin layer 2 is transferred to the outer surface of the object 8 to be printed. When the resin layer 2 is not cured, the base film 1 is released and, thereafter, the resin layer 2 is directly irradiated with ultraviolet rays to be cured.

In these conventional means, as shown in FIG. 10, a transfer printing label 6e having a printing layer 4e provided on one side of a heat-shrinkable base film 1 is attached to the surface of a printing object 8 via an adhesive layer 5e or the like. The label 6e is then heat-shrinked to bring the base film 1 and the printing layer 4e into close contact with each other along the surface shape of the printing target 8, and then the base film 1 is attached to the printing layer 4e and the printing target. It is peeled off from the object 8.

According to this means, even if the surface of the printing object 8 is a three-dimensional curved surface, the printing layer 4e can be properly adhered to the surface, and the print finish is better than the means of directly printing on the printing object 8. It's much cheaper in terms of size.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) However, in the conventional means, since the printing layer 4e coated with ordinary printing ink is simply adhered to the surface of the printing object, the printing layer 4e is This paper had the disadvantage that it was soft and very easily damaged, and when printing objects were handled, they were easily damaged and peeled off, deteriorating their appearance.

In addition, JP-A No. 63-151694 describes a method of applying a glaze to the surface of the printing layer 4e transferred to the printing object 8 and then firing it at a high temperature as a means for protecting the printing layer 4e. ing. However, this method cannot be applied to resin containers that do not have heat resistance, and has the disadvantage that the work of applying the glaze in a separate process is extremely complicated.

Moreover, as another means for protecting the printed layer 4e, it is also possible to separately provide in advance a hard protective film layer on the transfer printing label 6e to protect the printed layer 4e. However, if a hard protective film layer is provided on the birch label for transfer printing, when the label for transfer printing is heat-shrinked, the hard protective film layer will prevent the film from shrinking, causing damage to the base film and printing. The layer cannot be brought into close contact with the surface of the object to be printed. Furthermore, even if the film could be shrunk, it would cause cracks in the protective film layer and would not function as a protective film. Therefore,
This does not solve the above-mentioned problems.

(Means for Solving the Problems) The present invention is for adhering a printing layer to an object to be printed, and then curing the printing layer without heating or protecting the printing layer using a hard layer. The above-mentioned conventional problems are attempted to be solved by setting the hard layer in a soft state in advance to birch, which does not interfere with the heat shrinkage of the transfer printing label.

Further, a second transfer printing method according to the present invention is a transfer printing method in which a printing layer 4a for printing with ultraviolet curable printing ink is provided in an uncured state on one side of a base film 1 having heat-shrinkable properties. After the label 6a for printing is brought into contact with the surface of the object 8 to be printed such as a bottle container, the label 6a for transfer printing is heated and shrunk to closely transfer the El printing layer 4a to the surface of the object 8 to be printed, and then This is a method of curing the printing layer 4a by irradiating the printing layer 4a with ultraviolet rays before or after peeling and removing the base film 1 of the limb transfer printing label 6a from the interface with the printing layer 4a.

(Function) Therefore, in the first transfer method, when the transfer printing label 6 brought into contact with the printing object 8 is heat-shrinked, the uncured resin layer 2 is a birch material that prevents the heat shrinkage. This thermal contraction allows the printing layer 4 to be transferred to the surface of the printing object 8 in close contact with the surface. Further, when the resin layer 2 is then irradiated with ultraviolet rays and the resin layer 2 is cured, the surface of the printing layer 4 that is in close contact with the surface of the printing object 8 is covered and protected by the cured resin layer 2. It will be done.

Thereafter, the transfer printing label 6 is heated at a temperature that does not cause thermal damage to the printing object 8 (for example, around 100° C.), and the base film 1 is thermally shrunk as shown in FIG. 3. Since the resin layer 2 applied to the base film 1 is in an uncured state, the resin layer 2 does not hinder the shrinkage of the base film 1, and the resin layer 2 is in an uncured state. It deforms as the film 1 shrinks and deforms. Therefore, the base film 1 and the printing layer 4 are in close contact along the outer surface of the printing object 8, and even if the printing object 8 has a cubic curved shape, the printing layer 4 can be reliably brought into close contact with the surface. It is.

After that, the label 6 is irradiated with ultraviolet rays. Since the ultraviolet rays pass through the base film 1 and are irradiated onto the resin layer 2, the resin layer 2 is thereby cured. Therefore, if the base film 1 is then peeled off from the interface with the resin layer 2 as shown in FIG. The printed layer 4 will be transferred. Note that there is no risk that the printing object 8 will be damaged by the ultraviolet irradiation.

(Effects of the Invention) As shown in the above, the present invention allows the transfer printing label to be brought into contact with the object to be printed while the ultraviolet curable resin layer or printing layer provided on the transfer printing label remains uncured. Since the resin layer and the like do not cause any hindrance to the shrinkage of the base film, the shrinkage of the base film allows the printing layer to be brought into close contact with the surface of the printing target.
After that, the ultraviolet curable hard layer or printed layer is cured by irradiating the ultraviolet rays, so the surface of the printed layer can be protected by the hardened layer or the hardness of the printed layer itself can be As a result, the printing layer transferred to the printing object can be made more robust.
