(Prior art) Blow-by gas generated in the crankcase of an automobile engine contains atomized oil droplets, carbon, etc., so an oil separator is installed inside the rock cover to prevent air pollution. Then, the mist oil droplets are coagulated and separated in the oil separation chamber of the oil separator, and the oil content is returned to the crankcase. The blow-by gas from which the oil content has been removed is returned to the intake manifold from a communication pipe installed in the rock cover and re-burned. I try to do that.

As a method of returning the oil separated in the oil separation chamber to the crankcase side, there is a method as disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Application No. 57-84320. This type has a plate provided with an oil inflow opening for blow-by gas on the top of the rock cover to form an oil separation chamber and an oil blow-up prevention chamber, and an oil return valve with a reed valve at the bottom of the oil blow-up prevention chamber. In order to further improve oil separation efficiency, a sealing material is applied to fill the gap between the plate and rock cover so that all blow-by gas passes through the oil separation chamber. When the oil separated in the oil separation chamber reaches a specified amount, its own weight opens the reed valve and drips onto the piston. There is also one disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 57-76213. This is a blazer device in which a mist separation chamber is formed by filling the upper part of the inside of a rock cover with a separation material such as steel wool, and an oil hole is drilled. The oil adheres to the oil, aggregates, and separates into oil droplets that fall into the engine through the oil holes.

(Problem to be solved by the invention) In these devices, the oil that falls from the oil return port or oil hole returns to the sliding part of the piston and is used as part of the lubricating oil again, but Seal material applied to fill the gap with the rock cover peels off due to vibration, or contaminants generated when welding burrs between metals when forming the oil separation chamber peel off, mix with oil. They break off and fall onto the sliding parts of the piston, causing damage to the sliding parts. In addition, the oil mist flows slowly between the filled separation materials simply by suction due to the negative pressure of the air flow in the intake manifold.
There is a problem in that the coagulation due to contact with the separating material is insufficient and the fuel is re-burned from the intake manifold without being separated.

(Function) The oil in the blow-by gas that has flowed into the oil separator is accelerated by a pair of perforated plates, collides with the thick plate-like filter member, aggregates, increases the particle size, and separates, leaving the unseparated oil The gas again passes through a pair of perforated plates and a filter member, and the oil in the blow-by gas is completely removed. In addition, the oil separated in the separation chamber of the oil separator is collected on the inclined bottom plate provided at the bottom of the oil separator and flows through the oil storage section to the outflow pipe. The valve is opened and the oil flows into the oil pan. At the same time, foreign matter such as fragments of the sealing material contained in the oil also flows down from the outflow pipe into the oil pan.

(Embodiment) In FIGS. 1 and 2, a box-shaped oil separator 2 is disposed on the inner upper wall of a rock cover 1 to separate oil from blow-by gas. The oil separator 2 has inflow ports 3 opened at both ends, and has a perforated plate M and a thick plate-like filter member F as a pair inside the oil separator 2, and blow-by gas flows from the inflow port 3 to the outflow port 6 of the oil separator 2. Perforated board M
An oil separation chamber 4 is formed by a plurality of pairs of perforated plates M and a thick plate-like filter member F, and an intake manifold (not shown) is further provided downstream of the oil separation chamber 4. A communicating outlet 6 is provided. At the lower part 7 of the oil separator 2, an inclined bottom plate 8 is provided which receives the oil in the blow-by gas separated by the perforated plate M and the thick plate-like filter member F.
is arranged to be inclined downward from one side to the other side of the rock cover 1, and a funnel-shaped oil reservoir 9 is provided at the inclined tip of the inclined bottom plate 8 where oil accumulates. One end of the outflow pipe 5 is connected to the lower part of the oil storage section 9 . The outflow pipe 5 hangs down inside the crankcase, and the other end is connected to the oil pan 1.
It is immersed in oil in 2. A one-way valve 10 is disposed in the middle of the outflow pipe 5 and includes a valve plate that is always biased by a spring so as to close the outflow pipe 5 on the oil storage section 9 side.

The blow-by gas generated in the crankcase flows into the oil separator 2 from the inlet 3 of the oil separator 2 disposed in the rock cover 1, and when it passes through the pair of perforated plates M, the flow velocity is accelerated and the force is increased. It often collides with the thick plate-shaped filter member F. The mist oil droplets contained in the blow-by gas passing through the filter member F are aggregated by the filter member F, gradually become larger droplets, are carried by the flow, and flow down from the back surface of the filter member F. The oil components that are insufficiently aggregated are then subjected to the above-mentioned operation again on the perforated plate M installed upright, and the oil components are removed from the blow-by gas and flowed out from the outlet 6 to the intake manifold. The separated oil is dripped onto the inclined bottom plate 8,
The oil flows through the inclined bottom plate 8 and accumulates in the outflow pipe 5 from the funnel-shaped oil storage part 9, and when it reaches a specified amount, its own weight pushes a spring to open the one-way valve 10 and the oil flows into the oil in the oil pan 12. When the negative pressure on the intake manifold side is large, the valve plate of the one-way valve 10 closes the outflow pipe 5 on the oil reservoir 9 side, and the oil in the oil pan 12 and the oil in the oil reservoir 9 are sucked into the oil separator. Prevent it from being taken away within 2. In addition, foreign substances such as fragments of the sealing material sealing around the oil separator 2 and metal powder may be peeled off due to vibration.
Even if it falls, it flows along with the separated oil on the inclined bottom plate 8, flows from the oil storage part 9 through the outflow pipe 5 to the oil in the oil pan 12, and is prevented from falling directly onto the sliding parts of the engine.

Another embodiment shown in FIG. 3 is to arrange the outflow pipe 5b outside the crankcase 11 when there is no room for the outflow pipe 5b inside the crankcase 11. An oil separator is provided with a one-way valve 10 incorporating a valve plate which is always biased by a spring so as to close the outflow pipe 5b on the oil storage portion 9 side.

(Effects of the invention) As described above, the invention provides an oil separator in which a pair of perforated plates and thick plate-shaped filter members are arranged in a rock cover, and a plurality of oil separation chambers are formed in opposition to each other. The oil in the blow-by gas that has flowed into the oil separator is accelerated by a pair of perforated plates, forced to collide with a thick plate-like filter member, and coagulated and separated. Since the perforated plate and the filter member are used to separate them again, the oil content in the blow-by gas can be completely removed. In addition, an inclined bottom plate with an oil storage section is provided at the bottom of the oil separator, and an outflow pipe with a one-way valve is connected to the oil storage section and the oil in the oil pan. Even if an object falls due to vibration, it will flow along with the separated oil on the inclined bottom plate, enter the oil pan from the oil reservoir through the outflow pipe, and prevent it from falling directly onto the engine's sliding parts. can.
