Abstract

PURPOSE:To contrive to prevent feeding two or more sheets together by providing a polishing member to polish the surface of a separating pad in a sheet feeding means so as to keep the friction coefficient of the separating pad constant. CONSTITUTION:When a sheet S is fed between a pair of feed rollers 9, the rear end of the sheet S is held between an idle roller and a separating pad 11 to be fed frictionally contacting the separating pad 11. A polishing member 13 is provided axially stretched in part of the circumference of a feed roller 6 engaged around a shaft 6a supporting an idle roller 7 with play, so the surface of the separating pad 11 is polished by the polishing member 13 by rotation of the feed roller 6. The surface of the separating pad 11 is thus polished by the polishing member 13 for each feed of a sheet S, and friction coefficient of the separating pad 11 is maintained, thereby feeding two or more sheets S together to be caused by deterioration of the friction coefficient is thus prevented.

(B) Prior Art Conventionally, a sheet feeding device equipped with a paper feeding roller and a separation pad is known, but the sheet feeding device 1a has a cassette 2 as shown in FIG. Then, the cassette 2
includes an intermediate plate 3 on which sheets S are loaded and which can be raised and lowered freely, and a spring 5 that biases the intermediate plate 3 upward. A paper feed roller 6 for feeding the sheets S stored in the cassette 2 is rotatably supported in the vicinity of the cassette 2, and a shaft 6a of the roller 6 is slightly smaller than the roller 6. An idle roller 7 having a small radius is freely rotatably supported. Further, a pair of transport rollers 9 is disposed downstream of the paper feed roller 6, and a lower guide plate 10b that is paired with an upper guide plate 10a is attached to the shaft 9b of the lower roller 9a of the roller pair 9.
is rotatably supported. Furthermore, the lower guide plate 10
A separation pad 11 is disposed at the tip of b, and the separation pad 11 is configured to be pressed against the paper feed roller 6 by a spring 12.

Then, when a start key (not shown) is pressed, the paper feed roller 6, which is controlled by one revolution, rotates and the sheets S are separated and fed one by one by the separation pad 11 (see Fig. 6).

The friction coefficient G of 1 and the Tg of the sheet S! What is friction coefficient H?
Since the relationship is G>H, double feeding will not occur. Then, the sheet S contacts the stopped conveyance roller pair 9 to form a loop. At this time, the rear end of the sheet is held between the idle roller 7 and the separation pad 11.

←→ Problems to be Solved by the Invention By the way, in the sheet feeding device 1a described above, the sheet S
When the sheet S is conveyed while being held between the pair of conveying rollers 9, the rear end of the sheet S is held between the idle roller 7 and the separation pad 11, and the rear end of the sheet S is in frictional contact with the separation pad 11. transported. For this reason, paper dust and the like adhere to the surface of the separation pad 11, and the surface deteriorates due to friction with the sheet S, causing the g of the surface of the separation pad 11 to deteriorate. The friction decreases, and the friction coefficient G of the pad 11 becomes the friction coefficient H of the sheet.
If it is approximately equal to , there is a drawback that electrical transfer of the sheet is likely to occur.

Since this embodiment has the above-described configuration, when a start key (not shown) is pressed, the sheets S stored in the cassette 2 are separated one by one by the paper feed roller 6 and the separation pad 11. Only the topmost sheet S is fed (see FIG. 2). At this time, the paper feed roller 6, which has a short circumference depending on the feeding length of the sheet S, makes one rotation and stops using a one-turn clutch (not shown), so the abrasive material 13 does not come into contact with the separation pad 11. . By the same operation, the sheets S... stored in the cassette 2 are sequentially fed, and when all the sheets S... stored in the cassette 2 are fed, a signal from the sheet presence/absence detecting means (not shown) is detected. A control section (not shown) that detects the no-sheet signal rotates the paper feed roller 6 once. At this time, the abrasive material 13 comes into frictional contact with the separation pad 11, removes paper powder adhering to the surface of the pad 11, and polishes the deteriorated layer to restore the friction coefficient of the pad 11. Thereby, the relationship F>G>H is always maintained.

In the above-mentioned embodiment, each time all the sheets 2 stored in the cassette 2 are fed, the paper feed roller 6 is rotated one time.
The paper feed roller 6 rotates to polish the surface of the separation pad 11 with the abrasive material 13, but the present invention is not limited to this.
It is not limited to rotation, but may be multiple rotations, and may even be reverse rotation.

Further, in the above embodiment, the abrasive material 13 is
The abrasive material 13 extends linearly in the axial direction along a part of the circumference of the abrasive material 13, but the abrasive material 13 is not limited to this and may be arranged in parts as shown in FIG. Changes in the coefficient of friction on the surface of the paper roller 6 are kept low, and the relationship F>G can be maintained over the entire circumference of the paper feed roller 6.
