Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable display in deciding and forecasting altitude and weather, by calculating a hourly change pattern of a pressure during the stoppage of a vehicle based on an air pressure, altitude, a running condition and the elapsed time of the vehicle at a measuring position. CONSTITUTION:An analog electric signal fed from a pressure sensor 1 is applied to an air pressure computing means 3 and an altitude computing means 4 through an A/D converter 2. A weather deciding/forecasting means 7 calculates and stores a hourly change pattern of air pressure during the stoppage of a vehicle based on outputs of the means 3, a vehicle running condition deciding means 5 and a time piece means 6. The means 7 decides or forecasts weather at the moment or a change in the weather afterwards by collating the pattern with a plurality of reference hourly change patterns previously stored to be shown on a display device 8. An altitude also can be displayed by a mode switching means 9.

[Problems to be solved by the invention] Since a barometer or an altimeter that utilizes the deformation of a diaphragm is equipped with mechanical contacts, if it is installed in a vehicle that is subject to vibration and shock, such as a car, the vibrations and (■j The contacts may be damaged and destroyed by the shock, resulting in inaccurate readings or no operation at all.Furthermore, the range of atmospheric pressure fluctuations on the ground and at altitudes of several thousand meters is different. Because the size of the range is different and the sensitivity is different depending on the atmospheric pressure, it is impossible to judge and predict the weather and determine the altitude using a barometer using the same diaphragm, so it is necessary to install independent barometers for each. be.

In addition, the altimeter-cum-barometer, which incorporates a pressure sensor that sends out electrical signals depending on the atmospheric pressure and can switch between displaying altitude and pressure on the same screen, has solved the problem caused by vibration and shock, but it does not distinguish between stopped and moving cars. Since the system is designed to measure the atmospheric pressure without changing the altitude and display the altitude, atmospheric pressure, and whether the atmospheric pressure rises or falls on the same side, it is possible to display the change in altitude and atmospheric pressure on the same side. This means that it is dangerous to use this display to judge changes in the weather. Also, because the display of weather changes is extremely simple, it is difficult to accurately predict and judge weather changes using this display.
It is.

FIG. 4 shows the operation and display of weather judgment/prediction and the display of altitude in flowchart 1. That is, based on the respective outputs of the atmospheric pressure calculation means 3, the vehicle running state determination means 5, and the clock means 6, a series of atmospheric pressure data collected at regular intervals in the past while the vehicle is stopped is transmitted to the weather determination and prediction means 7.
In addition to recording the temporal change pattern of atmospheric pressure as a temporal change pattern of atmospheric pressure, a plurality of standard atmospheric pressure temporal change patterns (Fig. 5A to
), the weather at that point in time and subsequent changes in weather are predicted and displayed on the display screen 8a of the display as shown in FIG. A series of barometric pressure data collected at regular intervals in the past is designed to incorporate the latest data one after another, while erasing the oldest data. In addition, if the stopping time is short and the series of atmospheric pressure data necessary for determining and predicting the weather is not complete, the system will wait while collecting new data until it is complete. . On the other hand, it is also possible to display the altitude by pressing the mode changeover switch 9a of the mode changeover means 9, if necessary. While driving, the atmospheric pressure changes due to changes in altitude and horizontal position, so even if a series of atmospheric pressure data is collected at regular intervals, the weather at that point and the subsequent weather can be determined and predicted based on that data. Since this may give erroneous results, the screen 8a of the display 80 is mainly switched to altitude display as shown in FIG. 2 during that time. However, until a certain time after departure, the latest judgment prediction results are left in the weather judgment prediction means 7 so that the weather judgment prediction before departure can be switched and displayed.
It is designed to be deleted after a certain period of time.

Next, a plurality of standard atmospheric pressure change patterns over time will be explained with reference to FIG. The vertical axis of the coordinate axes in Figure 5 shows atmospheric pressure, and the horizontal axis shows time. A indicates that the atmospheric pressure rises and then falls shortly after, indicating that the weather is downhill. B indicates that the atmospheric pressure rises and then continues for a while. The atmospheric pressure will be maintained and the weather will continue to be sunny. C means that the atmospheric pressure is rising and the weather is changing from cloudy to sunny.
D: The atmospheric pressure is about to rise from a low state and the rain will stop; E: the atmospheric pressure will remain constant and the same weather will continue; F: the atmospheric pressure will change from falling to rising and the rain will stop. At G, the atmospheric pressure decreases and remains low for a while.
H indicates that the rain will continue, H indicates that the atmospheric pressure will drop and it will turn into rain, and I indicates that the atmospheric pressure will begin to drop from a constant value and the weather will worsen.

In addition, instead of the vehicle speed sensor 5a and A/D converter 5b described above, a digital electric signal is generated by changing the number of times the switch is turned on and off using a rotating permanent magnet disk connected to the speedometer cape. It is also possible to do so.

"Effects of the Invention" As explained above, the vehicle altimeter and rain gauge according to the present invention is equipped with a pressure sensor 1, an A/D converter 2, a barometric pressure calculation means 3, and an altitude calculation means 4, and further includes A driving state determination means 5, a clock means 6, a weather determination prediction means 7, an altitude and weather determination prediction display 8, and a screen 8 of the display 8.
By providing the mode switching means 9 of (a), the problem of damage and destruction caused by vehicle vibration and impact, which is the case with diaphragm-based rain gauges or altimeters, can be solved, and moreover, the same pressure sensor can record both ground pressure and altitude data. Furthermore, the means for determining and predicting the weather becomes extremely rational and its display becomes clear, further improving the reliability of weather determination and prediction while the vehicle is stopped. Furthermore, even while the vehicle is stopped, the latest forecast of the weather at the time of the stop can be displayed on the screen for a certain period of time after departure, and it is also possible to roughly predict the weather while driving.
