着されてクランク軸線に対し横方向に延在し、ク
ランクケースの隔壁に設けられた軸受部と協働し
てクランク軸を支持する複数の横部材からなる梯
子状フレームを具えてなるものにおいて、上記横
部材の縦部材に対する接合部分に、外方からクラ
ンク軸側に向かつて凹入した肉抜き凹所を設ける
と共に、上記横部材相互間に形成されてコネクテ
イングロツドの大端部を収容する透孔のクランク
軸線に対し横方向の側壁を限界する同横部材の側
面に、クランク軸線方向に凹入した肉抜き凹所を
設けないように構成したことを特徴とするエンジ
