Hot water storage type water heaters that use late-night electricity as a heating source are easy to supply energy and are superior in terms of safety and hygiene, so they have recently been installed not only in general houses but also in the upper floors of high-rise buildings. This is becoming more and more common.

Its typical structure is as shown in Figure 6.
A water pipe 4 is connected via a pressure reducing valve 3 to a water supply port 2 provided at the bottom of a hot water storage tank 1 having an internal volume of 300 to 500,
On the other hand, a hot water supply port 5 is provided in the upper part of the tank 1, and a hot water supply path 6 is connected to the hot water supply port 5, and a hot water supply faucet 7 is generally provided in the hot water supply path. Note that 8 in the figure is a drain port provided near the lower end of the tank 1, and is used for cleaning and inspecting the inside of the tank. Reference numeral 9 denotes a heat-insulating or heat-insulating material placed between the tank 1 and its outer shell.

In a water heater with this type of structure, tap water is not supplied from the water supply port 2 in the event of a water outage or a drop in tap water pressure due to an earthquake or fire, etc.
There is no upward force acting on the hot water in the tank, and faucet 7
Even if I open it, I can't get hot water. Furthermore, even when hot water or water stored in a tank is used as emergency water in the event of an earthquake or fire, it is necessary to open the drain port 8, which is normally closed, and also open a faucet etc. so that atmospheric pressure is applied to the tank. In addition, since the drain port 8 is located near the bottom of the tank, it is difficult for a bucket or the like to catch the emergency water that is discharged, making it inconvenient to use. Figure 1 shows an emergency hydrant 10 branched from a drain 8 provided at the bottom of a tank 1, and a hot water supply route 6.
A single opening/closing operation knob 12 is used to interlock the opening/closing operation knob 12 with an atmospheric air inlet 11 which is branched from a part of the opening/closing operation knob 12. It is preferable that the height of the emergency hydrant 10 is higher than the drain port 8 so that it can receive enough hot water or water from a bucket 13 or the like.

In the structure shown in Fig. 1, when water is cut off, the faucet 7 or 7' is opened to check whether hot water or water is coming out of the water heater, but if hot water or water does not come out, the user must Close the faucet again. Therefore, even if the emergency water tap 10 is opened, atmospheric pressure is not applied to the hot water or water stored in the tank 1, and emergency water is not discharged.

However, by opening the emergency hydrant 10 and the atmosphere inlet 11 branched from the hot water supply route, atmospheric pressure is applied to the inside of the tank 1 via the atmosphere inlet 11 → the hot water supply route 6 → the hot water intake 5. Water tap 1
Emergency water can be supplied from 0 to bucket 13. Therefore, it is possible to use this water for disaster prevention purposes.

FIG. 3 shows a specific configuration of the negative pressure release valve 14,
A cap nut 17 having an intake opening 16 is screwed onto the end of the elbow-type valve body 15, and the intake opening 16 is closed with a valve body 19 from inside the nut 17 by a biasing coil spring 18. tank 1
When the inside faces toward negative pressure by opening the emergency hydrant 10, the normally closed valve body 19 opens and atmospheric pressure is applied to the hot water or water in the tank.
By opening the emergency water tap 10, water can be supplied to the bucket 13 in the same manner as in FIG.

Fig. 5 shows yet another example, in which a faucet 7'' is provided as an emergency water tap branching from the drain port 8, and emergency water is supplied from there. The hot water or water in the tank 1 is drained. In the case of a tank that can discharge up to the height of port 8 and has an internal volume of 400, it depends on the installation height of drain port 8 from the bottom of the tank, but approximately
350 to 370 hot or cold water can be used as emergency water.
