所定巾の主スリツトを複数形成すると共に、該主
スリツトの形成部と異なる同一円周上に前記主ス
リツトと対応させてそれぞれ所定巾の副スリツト
を形成し、前記シグナルプレートの一側から発光
素子の光を照射し、前記シグナルプレートの他側
に設けた受光素子によつて通過光を検知すること
により前記主スリツト及び副スリツトのスリツト
巾を検出するよう構成し、前記受光素子によつて
検出される主スリツトの巾と副スリツトの巾との
組み合わせに基づいてクランク軸の回転角を検出
するよう構成されたことを特徴とする光学式クラ
