Conventional techniques and problems to be solved by the invention Conventionally, in order to create countless small speckled patterns on the surface of ceramic products such as various tableware, vases, and tiles, the entire surface of the ceramic base was first coated by dipping, etc. After applying a slurry-like glaze that becomes the base and drying,
The commonly used method was to spray a slurry-like glaze containing different colored pigments in the form of a mist, but the glazing process had to be done in two steps, and to create a spotted pattern of two or more colors, three steps were required. It is necessary to apply the glaze in the above parts, which makes the glazing process extremely complicated, not only requiring large-scale glazing equipment, but also making it difficult to spray the glaze into the recessed parts of ceramics with complex shapes such as tableware and vases. Therefore, it is difficult to uniformly apply a speckled pattern to the entire surface, and furthermore, when applying a speckled pattern of two or more colors, the specks of the glaze sprayed later may overlap with the specks of the glaze sprayed earlier. There were drawbacks such as the colors getting mixed up and the desired pattern not being obtained.

The present invention eliminates these drawbacks and allows a speckled pattern of a desired size and desired density distribution to be applied to the surface of a ceramic product using an extremely simple method.
The object of the present invention is to provide a water-insoluble granular glaze that can clearly display a spotted pattern of two or more colors, and a method for producing the same.

Example Hereinafter, an example of the method for manufacturing a water-insoluble granular glaze according to the present invention will be explained in steps.

(1) Preparation of glaze Pigments that produce the desired color when fired are mixed with raw materials such as kaolin, feldspar, silica, and limestone as needed, and water is added and the mixture is ground and mixed in a ball mill or pot mill to form a slurry. Mix the glaze. (This process is exactly the same as preparing ordinary ceramic glazes.) (2) Drying The slurry-like glaze is dried in the sun or by heating to remove moisture and turn it into a fine powder.

(3) Mixing a water-soluble binder A water-soluble binder such as a milky emulsion made by polymerizing vinyl acetate in water with an emulsifier or a hydrocolloid substance is added to the powdered glaze at a weight ratio of approximately 2:1. Mix to form a viscous fluid. This water-soluble binder is intended to be easily mixed with the powdered glaze by dissolving it in water, and to be solidified by drying in the subsequent process, and starch paste or the like may also be used. However, the use of the above emulsion has the advantage of high water insolubility after solidification.

The above embodiment has the advantage that general glaze production equipment can be used as is, but in some cases, the glaze, water repellent and water-soluble binder may be mixed with a small amount of water and made into a dough. The granulated product may be dried in a granulator, or a water-insoluble binder may be used in place of the water-soluble binder.

(1) Contamination with slurry glaze When applied to the entire surface of a ceramic base, the slurry glaze that serves as the base exhibits a color different from that of the slurry glaze1.
A seed or two or more of the above-mentioned water-insoluble granular glazes are mixed and applied to the entire surface of the ceramic base by dipping, sinking, or the like. Here, since the water-insoluble granular glaze is mixed with a water-repelling agent, it remains granular without dissolving even in the slurry glaze.
The adhesive force of the slurry glaze causes it to adhere to the surface of the ceramic base, and when it is dried and fired, it dissolves and spreads over a small area, forming a smooth spotted pattern.

As mentioned above, the water-insoluble granular glaze according to the present invention has water-insolubility due to the admixture of a water-repellent agent,
Even if it is mixed into the slurry glaze, it does not dissolve and remains granular. However, if the above-mentioned water-soluble emulsion or water-insoluble binder is used as a binder, it will be highly water-insoluble after solidification, so it will not dissolve. Even if the water agent lacks water-repellent properties, it can maintain sufficient water insolubility, but if a water-insoluble binder is used, a solvent must be used to mix it with the glaze, and manufacturing equipment and manufacturing It has the disadvantage of complicating the process. Therefore, as a binder, the most suitable emulsion is the above-mentioned emulsion, which is water-soluble when mixed and water-insoluble after solidification.

(2) Mixing into the base soil When the above-mentioned water-insoluble granular glaze is mixed into kneaded clay or slurry-like base soil, molded by potter's wheel or casting, and fired, the water-insoluble granular glaze adheres to the surface of the base. is dissolved to obtain the desired speckled pattern.

Structure and effects of the invention As specifically explained in the above embodiments,
The gist of the water-insoluble granular glaze of the present invention is that a water-repellent agent is mixed into the glaze and solidified with a binder, and water is repelled by the action of the water-repellent agent mixed into the glaze. Because it does not dissolve in water, it does not dissolve and maintains its granular form when mixed into a slurry-like glaze or kneaded soil or slurry-like base soil. For this reason, by mixing it with a slurry-like glaze and applying it to the surface of a ceramic base in the same way as regular glaze, it can be applied to the entire surface with a uniform density distribution, and it dissolves during firing to create a speckled pattern. By mixing two or more types of glaze with different colors and particle sizes into a slurry-like glaze, it is possible to create a variety of spotted patterns. It can also be mixed into slurry-like base soil to create a spotted pattern on its surface. In addition, the gist of the method for producing a water-insoluble granular glaze of the present invention is to mix the glaze, a water-repellent agent, and a water-soluble binder with water, remove water, solidify into lumps, and then crush the glaze. Since a water-soluble binder is used as the binder, the glaze can be easily manufactured using general glaze manufacturing equipment.
